Kristen Stewart knows Dylan Meyer is nowhere near the twilight of her career.
In fact, the Twilight alum reflected on how impressed she is by her wife, who directed her in their new movie The Wrong Girls.
“It’s the way that she chooses the people that surround the thing that she loves so much,” Stewart told E! News’ Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview. “You have to find people that love it just as much, because as a filmmaker, it’s yours first, but then it has to transfer.”
And, as the 36-year-old witnessed on set, “Dylan has this beautiful, delicate, gentle, inviting ability to be like, ‘This is yours.’ And so the crew was ready to jump into any hot or cold water for her. It was so much fun to make this movie.”
The feeling is mutual for Meyer, 39, who admitted she had been eyeing Stewart for The Wrong Girls—in theaters Aug. 14—before seeing her romantically.

“I actually shared it with her probably seven years before we ever reconnected and started dating,” Meyer told E! in the pair’s joint interview alongside costar Alia Shawkat. “When I first met her, I always wanted Kristen to be in the movie.”
Of course, she cheekily clarified to her wife, “That’s not why I started dating you.”
Indeed, Meyer emphasized that the Spencer actress—with whom she tied the knot in April 2025—was “the perfect person for the part.”
“On its surface, a lot of people have been surprised by this casting,” she continued, “but to know Kristen is to know that she’s kind of similar to me and to these characters.”
While Stewart loved seeing her wife in action on the movie’s set, she has also been vocal about Meyer’s multiple skills.
“She’s a consummate writer,” the Oscar nominee told E! News in December. “I write only because I have to. I find it miserable. I like to shoot.”
Still, Stewart knows that she and Meyer have “very different, very cohesive energies.”
“This might sound totally arrogant, but I think that we’re kind of unstoppable,” she explained. “She’s meditative and she’s very, very macro. I am so micro. It just works.”
