Kim Kardashianimmediately reached out to her star-studded All’s Faircastmates after the first season was largely panned by critics.
“I was really nervous when season 1 premiered, and the critics loved us,” Kardashian, 45, sarcastically said during a Thursday, October 15, appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!,referring to the show’s mixed reviews. “After that came out, I did send them a text message in our group chat, and I was like, ‘I’m so sorry. Like, did I ruin your guys’ career? Do you hate me? Like, we never have to do this again.’ I just didn’t know how it worked.”
Kardashian stars as divorce attorney Allora Grant in Ryan Murphy’s legal procedural about rival law firms run by women. The show also stars Glenn Close, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulsonand Niecy Nash-Betts.
“Sarah Paulson left me the longest, sweetest voice note about, ‘No, this is great, and this happens, and it means nothing, and let’s wait and see how they like it,’” Kardashian recalled on Thursday. “They’re so welcoming and so amazing that they made me feel really good about that.”
Kardashian was determined to excel in her debut starring acting role.
“It was my first TV project. I wanted to do a good job, and I wanted people to like it,” she stressed. “When the critics [spoke out], it worked in our favor. I think more people were like, ‘Let’s see how bad this show is, like, hey, let’s check this out.’”
Kardashian recently returned for All’s Fairseason 2, telling host Jimmy Kimmelthat she felt “more comfortable” on set.

“The girls, when I’m done shooting a scene, they’ll start screaming sometimes ‘cause they’re like, ‘Oh my, God, you killed it,’” she gushed. “They love seeing my growth and helping building me up. I think season 1 we took ourselves too seriously [and] we thought we were like Ally McBeal or Law and Order. We were a full comedy, and we had no idea.”
Going into the second season, Kardashian and her costars “really leaned into” the absurdities and the camp of the story arcs.

Deal of the Day
“We had to fully change it, and now we are campier [and] crazier,” she teased. “I think this season is … so much better than season 1. We just lean in now.”
In addition to All’s Fair, Kardashian recently filmed her first movie, Netflix’s The Fifth Wheel.
All’s Fairseason 2 premieres on Hulu Wednesday, November 4. New episodes drop weekly.
