The upcoming Kagurabachi anime has revealed new character trailers and visuals for Hinao and Char Kyonagi, giving fans a closer look at two of the series‘ supporting characters ahead of its April 2027 premiere. Miku Ito voices Hinao, while Miyari Nemoto plays Char Kyonagi.
Hinao works at Café Haru Haru, serving as a bridge between the underworld and sorcerers, while Char is a cheerful and brave young girl who is being pursued for mysterious reasons. The newly released trailers offer a first look at both characters in action.
Speaking about voicing Hinao, Miku Ito said she was asked to keep the dialogue natural and conversational to match the tone of the series. She added, “As for Hinao, I thought it would be fun to lean into her more comedic side every now and then, so whenever the opportunity arose, I tried to really embrace those moments and give them a little extra flavor. Everyone on the team has such a strong sense of dedication and respect for the series, so I’m really looking forward to continuing the recording sessions!”
Miyari Nemoto said, “Char’s lines are pretty short, so I felt a lot of pressure to express all of her emotions as honestly and concisely as possible! But once recording began, I found myself having a lot of fun voicing her.”
Based on Takeru Hokazono’s Weekly Shonen Jump manga, Kagurabachi has surpassed 4 million copies in circulation, including digital editions. The anime will stream on Crunchyroll worldwide from April 2027, excluding Japan, Mainland China, North Korea, and South Korea.
The adaptation is directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, with Keigo Sasaki handling character designs and Cypic producing the animation. The studio previously worked on Umamusume: Cinderella Gray and The Summer Hikaru Died. Taihi Kimura, who won the Best New Actor award at the 2025 Seiyu Awards, stars as protagonist Chihiro Rokuhira.
Kagurabachi follows Chihiro Rokuhira, the son of a legendary swordsmith who sets out on a path of revenge after tragedy strikes his family. Armed with one of his father’s enchanted blades, Chihiro enters a world of powerful sorcerers and dangerous criminal organisations in pursuit of those responsible. Since its debut in Weekly Shonen Jump in 2023, the manga has become one of the magazine’s fastest-growing modern hits, earning praise for its cinematic action, striking artwork, and darker take on the battle shonen formula.
Additional cast and production details for the anime will be announced at a later date.
