JOE HARRIS TO WRITE NEW ‘X-FILES COMICS FOR DYNAMITE
With Chris Carter’s Director’s Cut to Air on August 14 and Hulu Pilot in the Works

Dynamite will publish newX-Files comics starting this winter, and they are bringing back Joe Harris, who wrote the previous series for IDW, to as the writer. Riley Brown will be the artist for the new series. The announcement comes the day before the premiere of X-Files: I Want to Believe – Vrach Frankshteyn, his director’s cut of the 2008 film that restores the deleted horror scenes (see “‘X-Files’ Trailer”). Hulu has also greenlit a new X-Files pilot.
“The X-Files is the next jewel in the crown for us at Dynamite in working with Disney and entering 20th Century territories, hot on the heels of Kelly Thompson’s Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel epic,” said Nick Barrucci, Dynamite CEO and Publisher, in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Multiple generations have loved following the cases of Mulder and Scully, and they translate absolutely perfectly to the format and serialized nature of comic books. We’re working to make sure longtime fans and newcomers will love the new stories, and can’t wait to share more!”
The first X-Files comics were published by Topps Comics while the show was still airing; IDW acquired the license in 2013 (see “IDW to Publish ‘X-Files’ Comic Book Series”) and published both reprints of the Topps series and two new “seasons,” Season 10 and Season 11, by Harris.
