MANILA, Philippines – Veteran entertainment personality Jobert Sucaldito died on Sunday, August 2. He was 65.
Sucaldito’s death was confirmed by Chaps Manansala, his partner on the online show Oras ng Opinyon Talakayan at Diskusyon (OOTD).
“Thank you very much for your unwavering love, support, prayers, and continued support for him throughout the years. His memories, kindness, and the stories that he left behind will remain alive in our hearts,” read a statement posted in Filipino by the OOTD Jobert and Chaps Channel on its Facebook page.
“We ask for your prayers for his eternal rest and for our family during this time of deep grief.”
According to the OOTD Jobert and Chaps Channel, Sucaldito was rushed to Philippine Heart Center on Sunday morning following an “incident” at his Quezon City residence.
He was pronounced dead at around 10:30 am.
Sucaldito was hospitalized in July after suffering from anxiety and sleep deprivation for nearly a month.
He recovered and returned to hosting OOTD, even recording a near-hour-long episode with Manansala two days before his death.
“The family is still awaiting the official medical findings regarding the cause of his passing,” read another statement from the OOTD Jobert and Chaps Channel.
“We kindly ask everyone to offer prayers for the eternal repose of Nanay Jobert’s soul and to respect the family’s privacy during this difficult time.”
Born on April 16, 1961, Sucaldito worked across various media platforms, including television, radio, and print.
He served as a presenter on the ABS-CBN entertainment talk show The Buzz and anchored his own radio program, Show Buzz, on DZMM.
Sucaldito was also a columnist for Inquirer Bandera.
