Khandekar shared the update on LinkedIn, revealing that he joined the company in June 2026 and has been in the role for the past two months.
“A slightly belated update: I’ve recently joined India’s largest entertainment hub, JioStar as Director, Entertainment Pricing, Planning, Supply and Ad Products, Digital,” he wrote, thanking Sachin Waghe and Aashish Gupta for the opportunity.
In his new position, Khandekar will oversee pricing strategy, inventory planning, supply management and advertising products for JioHotstar’s digital entertainment business, as the streaming platform continues to strengthen its advertising and monetisation capabilities.
He joins JioHotstar from VDO.AI, where he served as assistant vice president, revenue, from February 2024 to June 2026. During his tenure, he focused on revenue growth and commercial strategy for the ad tech company.
Before that, Khandekar was product manager, monetisation at PubMatic, where he worked on supply-side platform advertising technologies and publisher monetisation solutions.
His earlier stints include serving as product lead at Moneycontrol, where he built advertising products for the financial news platform, and associate director, product strategy at Fork Media.
At Fork Media, Khandekar led the development of the company’s in-house supply-side platform, ContextAds, and worked on contextual advertising, audience targeting, ad serving technology and product strategy. His role also involved collaborating with engineering, sales and customer success teams to develop new advertising solutions and improve monetisation tools.
An information technology graduate from North Maharashtra University, Khandekar brings more than a decade of experience across product management, digital advertising, monetisation and revenue strategy.
His appointment comes as JioHotstar continues to expand its advertising business and sharpen its digital monetisation capabilities amid intensifying competition in India’s rapidly evolving streaming market.
