ABC is shutting down a report that Jimmy Kimmel Live is coming to an end after the current season comes to a close.
Jimmy Kimmel is kicking off his new season TONIGHT (<a href="https://comicvibe.com/call-of-duty-black-ops-7-and-warzone-season-06-launches-the-haunting-september-17/” title=”Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone Season 06 launches The Haunting September 17″>September 8) and a new report just surfaced claiming that he’s going to say goodbye to the show when the season is over in 2027.
“His contract is not getting extended,” a
ABC denied the report in a statement provided to JustJared.com: “This information is inaccurate – any reports about the future of the show at this point are purely speculative.”
Jimmy has been taking his summers off in recent years and he’s returning for the new season this evening.
TMZ reports that his contract is year-to-year and “there is talk among the staff that Jimmy has been working on pitching other shows and podcasts around town.”
There’s nothing stopping Jimmyfrom working on additional projects at the same time as hosting his talk show though. For example, this past weekend, he won an Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show for his work on Who Wants to Be A Millionaire. He has been hosting that show for years on the side!
