Actress Rashmika Mandanna shared a cute moment with her husband, Vijay Deverakonda, at the pre-release event of their upcoming film Ranabaali. Speaking at the grand event, the actress revealed that marriage has not changed the admiration she feels for Vijay as an actor and said that she still feels the excitement of a ‘fangirl’ whenever she watches him perform.

It is a period action drama movie directed by Rahul Sankrityan and is set to release in theaters on October 16, 2026. The film will be the couple’s first project on-screen after their marriage. Thus, the project is extra special for their fans.

Vijay Deverakonda’s Performance Praised by Mandanna

At the pre-release event, Rashmika addressed the audience, expressed her excitement about the film, and praised Vijay’s transformation into his character, Ranabaali.

The actress talked about her married life and said that she doesn’t feel less of a fan when it is time to watch her husband work. She said, “I am particularly looking forward to seeing his performance in Ranabaali where he is playing an intense rugged avatar.”

Rashmika also remembered going to the set for a couple of days at a time while the rest of the team was working on the movie for months. She said that she sometimes felt a little nervous about the seriousness and commitment of the crew, especially when she saw Vijay acting with his trademark moustache and commanding screen presence.

‘Ranabaali Is Not Just A Love Story’

“Ranabaali is a very important film for me and Vijay,” Rashmika said. The actors have earlier seen on screen together in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade, both of which had their characters in prominent romantic relationships.

But she told us that Ranabaali isn’t just a love story, even if it does have a sizable romantic track between the leads.

The actress also praised her character, Jayamma, and said that it is a beautiful role and people will remember it for a long time after watching the film. “Learning the character’s name was inspired by director Rahul Sankrityan’s mother made the role even more meaningful to me,” she revealed.

Rashmika thanked everyone for making her a part of the project and also lauded the team for the hard work and passion they poured into bringing the story alive.

Rashmika Thanks Her Fans For Their Love

The actress also tweeted about the excitement surrounding the film. “I have been enjoying the reels, comments and posts made by fans with the looks of Ranabaali and Jayamma,” she said.

Rashmika said the response had made her happy and thanked the audiences for their love. She also said that she wants to work with Vijay again in the future and also expressed her interest to work in another romantic film.

    Ranabaali Release On October 16

Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, Ranabaali is a period action drama starring Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in a film directed by Rahul Sankrityan. Prithviraj Sukumaran also appears in an important role in the film.

With a historical background, the story explores topics such as oppression, resistance and struggles of the common people. As the release nears, the makers are ramping up promotions, with audiences eager to see the real-life couple back on screen together once again.
