Marvel Comics is expanding the world of Secret Wars. The American comic book publisher will do that with a new five-issue line of one-shot comics. It will explore the catastrophic incursions that brought the multiverse to the edge of destruction.
Announced on Thursday, September 24, 2026, the Incursions event revisits the final days before Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribić’s 2015 Secret Wars. It places familiar Marvel heroes against radically different versions of their worlds. The event features a cosmic-powered Bruce Banner and an alternate Earth ruled by Thanos.
In Fantastic Four: Incursions #1 Parker and Griffin Sheridan with art by Paco Medina, Banner gains cosmic abilities and sets out to save an endangered planet. His mission puts him against an alternate version of the Fantastic Four whose members have also been transformed by gamma radiation
The Avengers receive an equally dramatic alternate-reality story. Al Ewing and Fran Mariscal Mancilla’s Avengers: Incursions #1 brings Marvel’s classic Silver Age Avengers lineup into conflict with a world controlled by Thanos.
The Mad Titan rules alongside his brutal Cabal, forcing Earth’s original heroes to confront a version of reality where their greatest enemy has already won.
Beyond the X-Men clash, Marvel’s Incursions event unleashes more multiversal dream matchups
November’s X-Men: Incursions #1 brings the world of Days of Future Past into conflict with the mutant-dominated society of House of M. Kate Pryde must make a difficult choice as the two realities collide
January’s X-Men ’92: Incursions #1 creates another major animated crossover, with Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle writing and Salva Espin handling art. The story pits the heroes of X-Men: The Animated Series against the younger mutants from X-Men: Evolution.
December’s Spider-Man: Incursions #1, by Christos Gage and Ron Lim, brings Ghost-Spider and Mayday Parker’s Spider-Girl together as their realities threaten to erase one another. Each one-shot operates around an eight-hour countdown.
The Incursions event begins in November 2026 and continues through January 2027.
