Hot Toys’ new sixth-scale Sam Porter Bridges figure from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is already up for pre-order through Sideshow Collectibles, with the standard version listed at $400 ahead of a December 2026 ship date. There’s just one problem: the slogan stitched into the back of the jacket doesn’t say what it’s supposed to say.
Instead of reading “for tomorrow,” the embroidered text on Sam’s Drawbridge suit ends in “BOTH STICK AND ROPE, TO PROTECT AND CONNECT, TOGETHER, FOR TOMORREW.” It’s a small detail on a very expensive collectible, and it’s the kind of thing collectors notice within minutes of a reveal video going up.

Fans Spotted the Same Typo Back in July 2025
This isn’t a new discovery. When Hot Toys first showed off prototype images of the figure in mid-2025, collectors on the Collector Freaks forum were already pointing at the same line of text. “Typo on the jacket lmao. TOMORREW,” one commenter wrote at the time, with others speculating the studio would quietly correct it before production.
Later replies in the same thread suggested it briefly had been fixed. “Glad they fixed the typo, that was ridiculous,” one poster said. Whatever happened between that comment and the final first-look video Sideshow put out this month, the misspelling is back in the finished sculpt.
Five Editions, One Recurring Typo
The figure isn’t a single release. Sideshow’s own listings show a Sixth Scale Figure priced at $400, with a Junji Ito-suit variant at $445, sitting alongside collector, deluxe and artisan tiers. Reporting from TheGamer put the standalone collector edition from $420 and the deluxe version at $465, while the wool-haired artisan edition, the most expensive of the line, runs past $500.
Bleeding Cool confirmed the figure carries pre-orders already live on Sideshow Collectibles with a December 2026 release. That’s a long runway for Hot Toys to fix a stitched word before boxes actually ship, assuming it hasn’t already been baked into the tooling used for mass production.

Our Take: A Dealbreaker? No. Sloppy? Yes
We’re not going to pretend a stitched typo ruins a figure with rolling eyeballs, a UV-reactive suit and nine sets of hands. It doesn’t. But collectors dropping $400 and up on a licensed piece expect the text on the box to match the text on the toy, especially when fans flagged the exact same error over a year before release.
Hot Toys has plenty of runway left before December. Whether “TOMORREW” gets corrected in the final production units, or whether it ships as a permanent, unintentional collector’s footnote, comes down to what the studio does between now and the actual pre-order fulfilment date.
