Cobra Commander takes inspiration from the 1991 O-Ring 3 3’4″ figure, with some new elements given to the 6″ line. This was one of the most memorable variations of his line, and was the first and only time the character wore a blue and black outfit complete with a grappling hook. It includes accessories inspired by his vintage toys, but in more realistic colors as opposed to neon orange and blue. Includes machine gun, two swords, scabbard, and grappling hook with string. What’s missing is the backpack and figure stand that came with the vintage figure, but since he’s not on the retro card, he’s not solely inspired by vintage toy releases.

Snake Eyes is packaged in a window box with artwork and logo and image on the front, image on the left side, and image of the figure on the back, with nicely finished toy photography and details on the head sculpt and sculpted dagger in the thigh holster.

Snake Eyes is an O-ring from 1991. Inspired by the Style release, he has a blue and black outfit with metallic black forearm and shin armor, black boots, a gray and black vest, a gray and black belt, a gray pouch with a carved dagger on his thigh, a gray holster for his machine gun on his left thigh, gray carved armor under his shin armor and forearm armor, and Japanese text on his forearm armor.

The head sculpt is very faithful and comes with a black mask, red visor with blue straps, and metallic silver faceplate.

Snake Eye includes most of his vintage weapons, but in more realistic colors and not bright red. Includes a black with red striped submachine gun, which includes removable ammunition and a silencer. Also included are two bloody swords with black handles, metallic silver blades, and red deco to indicate blood on the blades. Finally, a sword scabbard and a grappling hook with a string wrapped around it are also included. You can remove the string and use it, but I left it sealed at the factory. What’s missing, and specifically mentioned, is a backpack that can hold a grappling hood and can be used to secure it with an internal spring. Since the GI Joe Classified figure lacks these action features, Hasbro’s GI Joe team removed its backpack and replaced it with a sword scabbard.
His articulation includes a ball-jointed head and neck, swivel-hinged and butterfly shoulders, swivel biceps, double-hinged elbows, swivel-hinged wrists, ball-jointed hips, ball-jointed hips, swivel thighs, double-hinged knees, swivel calves, and hinged and rocker ankles.
Overall, Snake Eyes is a great product and a great update to this latest 6-inch series. This is a nice modern update to this design and a welcome addition to the 6-inch line. This is definitely a great addition and one to have in your collection. Get him now at BigBadToyStore.
