Twitch streamer Hasan Piker has sued Scott Jennings for $72.5 million, alleging a manipulated Twitch clip made it appear he supported racial violence.
Piker, known for his commentary about current events, politics and pop culture, says his reputation and income depend on viewers, sponsors, and commercial partners continuing to engage with his content.
Jennings is a commentator and host of The Scott Jennings Show. The lawsuit follows an August episode in which he allegedly used an edited video of Piker while discussing Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.

The lawsuit centers on a Twitch broadcast from October 29, 2024, during which Piker watched a debate between two black political commentators. Piker mocked one speaker’s argument about criminal justice policies before later responding to a viewer’s criticism in the chat.
Piker’s lawyers say the full broadcast made clear he was commenting on other people’s arguments and sarcastically responding to a viewer. They allege the viral version removed that setup, along with the debate footage, chat message, laughter and other surrounding context.
A 42-second compilation began circulating on X on August 6, 2026. According to the complaint, it combined portions of three Twitch broadcasts, shortened several sections and rearranged the order of Piker’s remarks.

Jennings played the compilation on his show five days later. The streamer alleges Jennings added his Twitch handle and a caption that presented a shortened line as a direct statement of Piker’s own beliefs. The complaint says Jennings then used the clip to portray Piker as supporting the restoration of racial violence and tied him to El-Sayed’s campaign.
