What Is Hasan Piker’s Net Worth?
Hasan Piker, better known online as HasanAbi, is an American Twitch streamer, YouTube personality, podcaster, and political commentator who has a net worth of $10 million.
Hasan Piker has become one of the most prominent political personalities on the internet, building an enormous audience through marathon livestreams that combine news analysis, political commentary, interviews, reaction videos, and gaming.
Piker began his media career at “The Young Turks,” the progressive news network co-founded by his uncle, Cenk Uygur. He later shifted his focus to Twitch, where his channel grew into one of the platform’s most-watched streams. His audience has passed three million followers on Twitch, while his primary YouTube channel has accumulated more than one billion views.
Piker earns money from Twitch subscriptions and advertising, YouTube advertising, merchandise, sponsorships, and his share of the podcast “Fear&.” Leaked Twitch data showed that he received more than $2.8 million directly from the platform between 2019 and 2021, before outside sponsorships, YouTube revenue, merchandise, and donations. His audience and overall media business expanded significantly in the years that followed.
Early Life
Hasan Doğan Piker was born on July 25, 1991, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. His parents are Turkish, and he spent much of his childhood in Istanbul, Turkey.
Piker returned to the United States for college, initially attending the University of Miami before transferring to Rutgers University. He graduated cum laude in 2013 with degrees in political science and communication studies.
His uncle is Cenk Uygur, the founder and longtime host of “The Young Turks.”
The Young Turks
While still attending Rutgers, Piker interned at “The Young Turks.” After graduating, he joined the company full-time, initially working on the business and advertising side before moving into an on-camera role.
Piker eventually became a host and producer for the network. In 2016, he helped create and host “The Breakdown,” a series aimed largely at younger progressive viewers. The program earned a nomination for Best Web Series at the Shorty Awards.
He also wrote political commentary for HuffPost and created another TYT program, “Agitprop with Hasan Piker.”
Piker began experimenting with Twitch in 2018 while still working at TYT. He left the company in 2020 to focus on streaming full-time.

Twitch Career
Rather than primarily streaming video games, Piker built his Twitch audience around politics and current events. His streams often run for seven or eight hours and feature live reactions to news broadcasts, political speeches, debates, social-media posts, and breaking events.
His audience exploded during the 2020 presidential election. Piker attracted more than 125,000 viewers while covering the first presidential debate and later participated in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s hugely popular “Among Us” Twitch stream alongside Pokimane and other creators.
During the week of the 2020 presidential election, Piker became the most-watched streamer on Twitch, generating 6.8 million hours watched across roughly 80 hours of broadcasting. His coverage of the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol reached more than 230,000 concurrent viewers.
His audience continued expanding in subsequent election cycles. Piker received credentials to stream from the 2024 Democratic National Convention, and millions of viewers watched his coverage of the 2024 presidential election. He has also interviewed politicians including Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Twitch and YouTube Earnings
Piker’s income became a public topic after Twitch suffered a major data breach in 2021. Leaked payout records indicated that Twitch paid HasanAbi $2.81 million between August 2019 and October 2021, making him one of the platform’s highest-paid creators during that period.
Those payments represented money coming directly through Twitch, including subscriptions and advertising. They did not include YouTube income, independent sponsorships, merchandise, or other outside revenue.
Piker’s Twitch business has remained substantial. His broadcasts regularly attract tens of thousands of simultaneous viewers, and paid subscriptions provide recurring monthly revenue.
YouTube has developed into another major business. Piker’s main HasanAbi channel eventually surpassed 1.9 million subscribers and 1.2 billion views. Because his team publishes edited clips and highlights from his long Twitch broadcasts at a high frequency, the channel generates millions of additional views every month and creates a second advertising revenue stream from content originally produced for Twitch.
“Fear&” Podcast
Piker co-hosts the podcast “Fear&” with Will Neff, QTCinderella, and AustinShow. The show discusses internet culture, entertainment, current events, and the hosts’ personal lives.
“Fear&” has developed a particularly valuable subscription business through Patreon. The podcast grew to more than 22,000 paying Patreon members and more than $100,000 in monthly gross subscription revenue. That money is shared among the business, its hosts, producer, editors, artists, and other production expenses.
Piker also previously co-hosted the political podcast “Leftovers” with Ethan Klein from 2021 until 2023.
Merchandise and Other Ventures
In 2021, Piker launched Ideologie, a line of union-made merchandise. Part of the proceeds from the initial collection was directed toward labor strike funds, ultimately raising more than $180,000.
Piker has also used his enormous streaming audience for fundraising. He helped raise more than $200,000 for Ukrainian relief following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. After the devastating 2023 earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, a fundraiser organized through his community generated more than $1.2 million for relief organizations. Another campaign connected to the war in Gaza raised more than $1 million for humanitarian organizations.
Controversies
Piker’s outspoken political commentary has frequently generated controversy. In 2019, he attracted widespread criticism after making provocative remarks about American foreign policy and the September 11 attacks during a livestream.
Twitch temporarily suspended him in 2021 after he repeatedly used the word “cracker” during discussions about racism. He has received additional temporary suspensions related to material shown or statements made during live political coverage.
His views on Israel, Gaza, American foreign policy, capitalism, and electoral politics have also made him a frequent subject of criticism from both conservative commentators and other figures on the political left.
Real Estate
In 2021, Hasan Piker paid $2.74 million for a home in the Beverly Grove area of Los Angeles. The approximately 3,800-square-foot property has five bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms.
The purchase attracted significant attention because of Piker’s identification as a democratic socialist. Piker responded that advocating for higher taxes, organized labor, universal health care, and other socialist policies did not require an individual to avoid earning money or owning property.
