You know you’re in safe hands when you’re watching a mystery thriller series adapted from Harlan Coben. Now, one of his most famous book series is coming to Netflix – here’s everything we know so far.

There aren’t many authors who can say they have a whole collection of adaptations dedicated in their name on Netflix, but Harlan Coben is one of them. He’s the mastermind behind some of the most twisty mystery thrillersin the business, including I Will Find You, Fool Me Once and Stay Close, and if you’re ever after a fast-paced read with emotional twists and turns, his books will keep you turning pages long into the night.

Coben has written a book nearly every year for the best part of a decade (seriously, I don’t know how he does it), so he has a seriously impressive backlog of material that’s waiting to be adapted on TV. The latest title to get the small screen treatment? The Myron Bolitar series, which is arguably Coben’s most famous collection to date and is currently in production in New York.

The long-running series of thrillers centres on Myron Bolitar, a former basketball player turned sports agent and investigator. With 12 books in the series to date (the first dating back to Deal Breakerin 1995), there are plenty of twisty plots and nail-biting turns to keep Netflix viewers entertained.

What is Harlan Coben’s Myron Bolitar about?

David E Kelley (Big Little Lies) and Kyle Long (Suits) are the showrunners, and the series centres around Myron Bolitar, a former college basketball star whose NBA career comes to an abrupt end.

Forced to pivot, Bolitar reinvents himself as a sports agent – using charm, smarts and a ruthless partner to navigate the high-stakes and dirty world of sports, where saving his clients often means risking himself. Investigating blackmail attempts, murder and more, Bolitar dances outside his job description to get the job done, no matter what.

Who stars in the Myron Bolitar series?

Colin Woodell (Pulse) steps into the role of Bolitar, while KJ Apa (Riverdale) is Win Lockwood and Diane Guerrero (Orange Is the New Black) plays Esperanza Diaz.

Jabari Banks (Bel Air), Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live), and Jamie McShane (Task) will also feature as series regulars, while Ben McKenzie (Gotham) will be a recurring guest star.

What has Harlan Coben said about the adaptation?

Reflecting on the new show, which marks yet another in Coben’s five-year deal with Netflix, the author said: “What an honour – not to mention, great fun – it is to partner up at Netflix with legend David E Kelley and his remarkable team on this exciting new series.

“The Myron Bolitar books mean a great deal to me, and I’m thrilled to have such a talented and inspired group bringing them to life.”

The series has begun production in New York, meaning a release date may be a little while off. In the meantime, click here to read our ranking of the best Harlan Coben thrillers to binge while you await the latest release.
