History of Akron Comicon
Akron Comicon was founded in 2012 by Bob Jenkins and Michael Savene, according to its website.
Over 60 professional creators have attended the event.
In 2019, local creators Dan Gorman and Jason Miller of Altered Realm Productions purchased the comicon.
The event’s mission is to “help promote newspaper comics and comic books as an original American art form and and hobbyists together for a weekend of fun and interaction in a family-friendly environment,” its website says
