Grand Blue puts its own spin on the classic Devil Fruit formula by calling them Cursed Fruits, and the fastest way to get one skips the luck entirely. New players who land in Roblox and boot up Grand Blue for the first time have a clean, quest-based route that hands over a Cursed Fruit without touching a single random chest or praying for an island spawn. Here’s every method ranked from fastest to slowest, plus the exact steps for the beginner route.

What are Cursed Fruits in Grand Blue?

Cursed Fruits are Grand Blue’s version of the Devil Fruit concept. Eat one and your character permanently gains a unique set of combat abilities, boosting both damage output and utility for the rest of your save. The effect is irreversible, which is why players treat the first fruit like a real decision rather than a throwaway pick.

There’s no rerolling, no swapping, and no documented way to remove a Cursed Fruit once consumed. The ability set binds to your character permanently, so knowing what you want before you eat is worth a few minutes of research. Check out the Blox Fruits devil fruit tier list for a sense of how fruit rankings work across similar Roblox games, since the same priority logic applies here.

    important
Once you eat a Cursed Fruit, the abilities are permanent. There is no confirmed method to remove or swap it, so decide before you consume.

How to get a Cursed Fruit fast: Almighty Calvin’s quest

The Wizards Apprentice quest run by Almighty Calvin in Anchor Town is the single fastest early-game route to a Cursed Fruit. No RNG, no spending in-game currency, no sailing around hoping something spawns. Four steps and you’re done.

Step 1: Find Almighty Calvin in Anchor Town

Travel to Anchor Town and look for the raised stone platforms behind the houses. Almighty Calvin stands up there as an NPC. He’s not hidden, but new players often walk past him at ground level without looking up.

Step 2: Start the quest and pick up the Rusty Shovel

Talk to Almighty Calvin to trigger the Wizards Apprentice quest. Immediately after accepting, grab the Rusty Shovel sitting on the ground directly below his platform. You need it for the next step.

Step 3: Dig up the buried objects

Follow the quest markers and use the Rusty Shovel to dig up the hidden objects the quest points you toward. The markers are clear, so this part is straightforward.

    tip
If a dig spot glitches and won’t respond, hit it with a Strong Punch first to reset it, then try digging again. This fixes the most common interaction bug on this quest.

Step 4: Return to Calvin and open Calvin’s Treasure

Head back to Almighty Calvin to complete the quest. He rewards you with Calvin’s Treasure. Open it from your inventory to collect the Cursed Fruit inside.

What are all the other ways to get a Cursed Fruit?

Once you’ve cleared the Calvin quest or you’re hunting for a second and third fruit, three more methods open up. None of them are as fast as the quest for new players, but they’re all worth understanding.

Fruit Chests give you the most control after the quest. Different chest tiers cost more in-game currency but hand out different quantities of Cursed Fruits, so saving up for a better chest tier is generally worth it over buying cheap ones repeatedly.

The Fruit Trader NPC is a direct purchase with no randomness, but you need to reach one and have enough currency. For players still early in the game, the trader is often more accessible than it looks once you start moving around the map.

Island exploration is pure RNG. Cursed Fruits spawn randomly on islands as you sail, and while it’s always worth grabbing one if you spot it during travel, building a farming route around island spawns alone is a slow play.

Can you remove or reroll a Cursed Fruit?

No. There is no documented method to remove, swap, or reroll a Cursed Fruit once you’ve eaten it. The ability set binds permanently to your character, which makes the initial choice matter more than in games with a reroll system. Spend a few minutes deciding which fruit fits your playstyle before consuming anything.

For players who want more context on how to prioritize fruits in similar Roblox adventure games, comparing tier lists from related titles is a useful reference point before committing.

    warning
Eating a Cursed Fruit without checking what it does first is the most common early-game mistake. The ability set is permanent, so treat every fruit like a build decision.
