Netmarble participated in Tokyo Game Show at Makuhari Messe for the second consecutive year. Its key lineup features ‘Shangri-La Frontier: The Seven Colossi,’ based on the Japanese web novel and anime IP; ‘Solo Leveling,’ a roguelite RPG based on the webtoon and anime; and ‘Pearl in Blue,’ a new original title targeting the Japanese market.
Unlike last year, which focused primarily on console demos, this year Netmarble took a mobile-centric approach to make a targeted push into Japan, the home of subculture and a powerhouse of anime and manga. Meanwhile, building on last year’s well-received elements, the booth drew attention with life-sized statues capturing key scenes from each IP and booth staff who were thoroughly prepared. Staff in the Shangri-La Frontier zone greeted visitors in cosplay as Emul, while staff in the Solo Leveling zone cosplayed as Cha Hae-In, striking a chord with fans. Furthermore, for the newly showcased ‘Pearl in Blue,’ the four knights who accompany the protagonist appeared on rotation beside the demo stations for photo sessions with visitors, actively highlighting the characters’ charm.
After knocking on the door of the Japanese market following last year’s TGS with upcoming releases like The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin and MONSTER Taming: STAR DIVE, Netmarble is preparing another series of hits. Here is a look at the booth site in photos, capturing the dedication behind Netmarble’s push.
