Free PS5 Upgrade Announced for PS4 Open-World Game

Fans of a popular PS4 open-world survival game have received an update on its upcoming PlayStation 5 release. The announcement brings good news for existing players who have been waiting to experience the game on a modern console.

Conan Exiles Enhanced is coming to PlayStation 5 in early 2027, bringing visual and performance improvements to the open-world game. On October 27, 2026, the developer Funcom announced that existing PS4 owners will receive a free upgrade to the enhanced version.

This means all purchased content will carry over to the new version, letting players access it without buying the game again. The game will also be available on the Xbox Series X|S. A new trailer was also released ahead of the release, which can be watched below.

What to expect from Conan Exiles Enhanced on PS5?

According to Funcom, the updated version will bring enhanced features to modern consoles. These include improved environments, character models, lighting, and visual effects. Players can also expect a redesigned user interface, performance upgrades, and quality-of-life improvements designed to deliver a smoother gaming experience.

Moreover, the enhanced edition will also bring the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah game expansions together. However, players will need to purchase Isle of Siptah separately. Overall, the new edition will give players access to an improved version of the game while retaining the existing content.

This update comes ahead of the game’s 10th anniversary, which was released on May 8, 2018. In the exclusive statement, Funcom CEO Scott Junior said, “With Conan Exiles approaching its 10th anniversary, this is an exciting milestone for us and the community. We’re proud of what we’ve built together over the past decade and humbled by the reception from the players. We’re excited to continue supporting and developing the game for hopefully 10 more years. We look forward to seeing what the next decade brings for Conan Exiles and its dedicated community.”

Although the release is scheduled for early 2027, an exact date has not yet been announced.
