Fortnite players exploring the Wonkeeland point of interest have started hearing Pac-Man’s unmistakable arcade intro music looping in the background, a discovery that has poured fuel on weeks of leaks claiming Chapter 7 Season 4 will be built entirely around a “Gaming Legends” theme. The audio cue, first flagged by leaker ShiinaBR on August 1, arrives as Epic Games’ current season, Runners, winds down toward its scheduled conclusion on August 19, 2026.

    Pac-Man’s Theme Loops at Wonkeeland

Over the past few days, players around certain areas of the Wonkeeland POI on the Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 map have been hearing Pac-Man’s intro music looping in the background. The sound was reportedly spotted by community members and relayed publicly by dataminer ShiinaBR. The Bandai Namco icon has already crossed over with Fortnite before, with a limited-time reactive Back Bling all the way back in Chapter 3.

Unlike a datamined file or a leaked image, an audio cue placed live on the map is something Epic Games controls directly, and outlets have read it as a deliberate, low-key marketing nudge rather than an accidental leak. The Pac-Man audio easter egg is a clever way to build hype without making a formal announcement. Epic knows their audience. Dropping Pac-Man music at a random POI and letting the community discover it is actually a great marketing move.

HypeX and ShiinaBR’s Collab List Names Sonic, Persona 5, Kingdom Hearts

The Easter egg lands on top of a separate wave of datamining reports. A number of Fortnite leakers, including HypeX, believe that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 will have a ‘gaming legends’ theme. Leaker HypeX has circulated a tiered list splitting collaborations into those already leaked or confirmed versus pure rumour, and the confirmed side includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Kingdom Hearts, Vampire Survivors, Ember & Blade, Kernel Hearts, and Kakao Games, with leaker SamLeaks adding Persona to the mix on July 22, noting it further supported the gaming crossover season theory.

Other names circulating at the rumour stage, according to multiple leak trackers, include Mega Man, Crash Bandicoot, Tetris and Marvel Tokon. Encrypted files uncovered by dataminers have also pointed to Sonic and Dr. Eggman receiving cameo appearances in Season 3’s closing story event, an in-fiction hook that would tie directly into a Season 4 launch built around outside gaming IP.

Fortnite’s Existing Gaming Legends Tier Already Spans Nearly 70 Characters

Epic Games already runs a dedicated rarity category for exactly this kind of crossover cosmetic. Fortnite already has its own Gaming Legends Series rarity tier, a specific label reserved exclusively for skins and cosmetics from other video game IPs. Nearly 70 video game characters from outside Fortnite’s own universe have already appeared as skins. The roster reads like a greatest-hits of gaming history: Solid Snake and Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, Master Chief from Halo, Kratos from God of War, Geralt from The Witcher, Lara Croft, The Doom Slayer, Ezio and Eivor from Assassin’s Creed, plus six Street Fighter characters and five from Resident Evil. More recently, Alan Wake and Dave the Diver joined the list.

What would make a Gaming Legends-themed Season 4 different is scale and placement. Most of these arrived as store additions rather than Battle Pass content. A season that puts gaming crossovers at the center of its identity, not just the item shop, would be a meaningful shift. That distinction is why leak trackers are treating this rumoured season as a bigger structural moment than a typical crossover drop.

Runners Season Ends August 19 as Epic Stays Silent

None of the collaboration names have been confirmed by Epic Games itself, and every outlet tracking the leaks has stressed the same caveat. As with all Fortnite leaks, nothing is official until Epic Games announces it. ShiinaBR and HYPEX have strong track records, particularly with encrypted file discoveries and upcoming teaser assets, which gives this report more weight than pure speculation.

The current Chapter 7 Season 3, subtitled Runners, is titled Runners, has focused mainly on the game’s official lore, but its Battle Pass still included a crossover skin featuring John Wick. Season 3 is due to end on August 19, 2026, with Season 4 expected to follow after the standard server downtime, meaning Australian and New Zealand players logging in for the transition should watch for an official teaser trailer in the fortnight beforehand rather than treating any leaked roster as locked in.

For now, the Wonkeeland audio cue is the closest thing to an official signal Epic Games has given, and it has done exactly what an unannounced Easter egg is designed to do: keep the community guessing until the studio decides to speak for itself.
