    Key Points

    • The former Gosselin family housekeeper is backing up Collin Gosselin’s claims that his mother Kate Gosselin abused him.

    • Collin alleged that Kate was physically abusive to him as a child in his memoir In the Shadow of Eight.

    • The former housekeeper claimed she reported Kate to Child and Youth Services when she worked for the family around 2013.

The former housekeeper for the Gosselin family is speaking out against Kate Gosselin, claiming that she reported the reality star to child services when she worked for her.

The housekeeper, who goes by Ashley H., said she was hired to be a cleaner and occasional fill-in nanny for Kate and her eight children around 2013. Kate shares twins Mady and Cara, 26, and sextuplets Collin, Alexis, Joel, Leah, Aaden, and Hannah, 22, with ex Jon Gosselin.

While Ashley worked for Kate, she claims she saw instances of abuse toward Collin, whom she alleged Kate had a “specific hate” towards.

“She very much outwardly treated Collin different,” Ashley told PEOPLE. “She 110 percent abused Collin.”

Entertainment Weeklyreached out to representatives for Kate and Collin for comment.

Ashley claims she saw the matriarch “grab” Collin “many, many times.” She also claims that she witnessed Kate pull his ear and “rip him right out of his chair in the kitchen.” Ashley said she reported Kate to Children and Youth Services in Berks County, Pa.

“I know for a fact that I was not the only one who did that,” she further claimed. “I want to use this opportunity to not only back Collin that his mom was psychologically abusive to him, not to mention the physical.”

In his memoir In the Shadow of Eight, which released on Oct. 13, Collin accused Kate of physically abusing him. He also previously opened up about his experience speaking with child services when he was 12, although the agency did not report credible evidence against Kate. She has repeatedly denied the allegations and claimed Collin is mentally ill.

“I told them about the whole situation with the room I was locked in a room, and I wanted to get out, which is completely justified,” Collin said during an episode of the On Purpose With Jay Shetty podcast. “Any child that feels locked in a room, I don’t think they’re wrong for wanting to get out and leave the home, because they feel that sense of danger. This report details everything. ‘Child told us that he was zip-tied; child had bruises on his knees,’ and I talk about why those were there, because my mom had picked me up and dropped me on the floor, and it details everything. And then you look at the determination of the report, and you know what it says? Unfounded.”

EW reached out to the Berks County Children and Youth Services for comment.

Beyond Collin, Ashley alleged that the rest of the Gosselin children were also expected to follow strict rules, including being told to wear “either one or two school outfits per week” and to do weekly chores like “having a toothpick and going around the edges of the fridge.” She also claimed the kids showed her a big red, plastic spoon that Kate would allegedly use “when she gets mad.”

“I was like, ‘Oh, okay. I can’t work here anymore. This really is as bad as I think it is,'” she recounted. “That red spoon has haunted me for a long time.”

Amid the ongoing backlash toward her following the release of Collin’s book, Kate has defended herself and her relationship with her other seven children, saying in a TikTok comment on Thursday that spectators “have no idea what it’s like having a child or relative with mental illness.”

She wrote in another comment, “I know who I am and my kids know who I truly am and to me, that’s all that matters.”
