Nexon Games’ new title, ‘Project RX,’ participated in ‘Anime Expo 2026,’ held in Los Angeles from July 2 to 5. Following the release of its teaser image and video, ‘Project RX’ debuted its first offline demo space at the event, making a strong impression on the global market as a highly anticipated new ‘pretty girl’ game with its captivating visuals and unique experience.

‘Project RX’ is set to further expand its reach to global fans by participating in the ‘Tokyo Game Show 2026,’ a global game exhibition taking place this September.

    ■ ‘Project RX’ Captures Global Fans with First Offline Reveal in the U.S

‘Project RX’ is a PC, console, and mobile-based pretty girl game currently under development by the RX Studio within Nexon Games’ IO Division, the team behind ‘Blue Archive.’ Aiming to create an ‘otherworld’ where players can live alongside charming characters, the game will feature high-quality 3D graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5, slice-of-life content, and immersive storytelling.

‘Project RX’ met with fans by setting up its first offline demo space at Anime Expo 2026, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, Anime Expo is North America’s largest animation culture festival, featuring over 1400 hours of programming over four days and drawing approximately 420k attendees from 65 countries.

Located in the South Hall—the main exhibition area—the ‘Project RX’ booth was set up next to the ‘Blue Archive’ booth and designed as a Western-style mansion inspired by key locations in the game. The highlight was an interactive experience where visitors could call out to characters resting in a room, exchange greetings, and play rock-paper-scissors. The ability to interact directly with the characters received an enthusiastic response. Visitors who participated in the interaction were impressed by the high level of immersion and the unique content. One attendee remarked, “All four characters are cute, and the world-building and setting look interesting. I will definitely play ‘Project RX’ when it launches.”

During an Anime Expo panel session, Cha Min-seo, PD of ‘Project RX,’ explained the background behind the interactive content. He stated that the experience of a player and character looking into each other’s eyes to play rock-paper-scissors represents the core direction of ‘Project RX,’ and that further details, including the official game title, will be released sequentially.

A photo event featuring cosplayers portraying in-game characters like Minie, Ohana, Shami, and Merling drew long lines of fans. By connecting the ‘Project RX’ and ‘Blue Archive’ booths into a single path, the team offered various programs, such as a joint stamp rally, allowing visitors to experience the unique charm and world of both games. This thoughtful operation helped ‘Blue Archive’ users naturally become fans of ‘Project RX.’

    ■ Intense Interest Since Teaser Reveal… Anticipation for New Information ↑

‘Project RX’ has garnered immense attention since its announcement, as it is the new project from the IO Division that created the global hit ‘Blue Archive.’ When it was revealed in 2024 that Cha Min-seo, who oversaw the Korean and global service of ‘Blue Archive,’ would serve as the PD for ‘Project RX,’ and that ‘YutokaMizu,’ the character designer and illustrator for ‘Blue Archive,’ would serve as the Art Director (AD), the news went viral across global online communities.

Late last year, a teaser video showcasing characters spending peaceful moments in everyday spaces and displaying combat skill effects captured the attention of subculture fans worldwide. The YouTube channel was flooded with comments from fans speculating about the game’s setting based on scenes of characters reading books or cooking in living rooms and gardens, as well as expressing anticipation for the combat content.

The development team is accelerating work on ‘Project RX’ to enhance its quality, incorporating feedback gathered from internal tests conducted last year. Starting with Anime Expo, the team is also actively expanding its touchpoints with users. They plan to participate in ‘Tokyo Game Show 2026’ this September to showcase the unique appeal of ‘Project RX’ to a broader global audience and reveal new information.

“I am delighted to have had the opportunity to meet the fans who have shown such high interest in ‘Project RX’ so far,” said Cha Min-seo, PD of ‘Project RX.’ “We are working hard to live up to your support, and I ask for your continued anticipation for the content that will be released sequentially.”
