Fate/Strange Fake Season 2 finally gets confirmed after 5 months of speculation

It took Aniplex almost half a year to explain what that cryptic message at the end of Fate/Strange Fake Season 1 meant

Nearly five months after the first season ended, Aniplex finally put anime fans out of their misery. Over the weekend, they confirmed that we are, in fact, getting a second season of Fate/Strange Fake. The latest instalment in the iconic (and mildly confusing) Fate franchise is getting more episodes as Fate/Strange Fake Season 2 finally gets announced.

The speculation among fans has been rampant since March 2026, when the first season of Fate/Strange Fake aired. Afterward, Aniplex posted a cryptic video that certainly implied that more of the series was on the way. A short video was posted that ended with the message “to be continued”, but didn’t reveal what form that continuation would take.

Finally, at Anime NYC 2026, Aniplex confirmed that Fate/Strange Fake Season 2 was coming. There was no release window or other information about the series announced at the time. Fans had speculated that the next part of the story could be a movie or even a visual novel, considering the origins of the series. Another season of the anime is a welcome surprise to many. Often, new seasons of a show are announced as soon as the previous season has ended, so it isn’t clear what the cause of the delay here was.

The Fate series is one that has been going strong for more than 20 years, with multiple visual novels, anime series, and films to its name already. With more Fate/Strange Fake coming, at least we know that it won’t be ending soon. Even without a Fate/Strange Fake Season 2 release date to look forward to, fans can rest easy knowing that the story carries on.
