Esports talent crossover trend accelerates as MLBB caster Mirko debuts in VALORANT, but Web3 gaming remains absent

The growing esports talent pipeline between mobile and PC titles highlights an industry that’s scaling fast, yet the crypto-gaming convergence remains conspicuously missing from major competitive circuits

Frederick Handy “Mirko” Loho, one of the most recognizable voices in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports, is crossing over to VALORANT for the first time. He’ll be casting the VALORANT Challengers 2026 Pacific Last Chance Qualifier from July 7-10 in Indonesia, joining a seven-person talent lineup drawn from Australia, Singapore, and Indonesia

The crossover and what it signals

Mirko built his reputation in the MLBB ecosystem, casting events like MPL Indonesia and the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup since MPL Season 7. His YouTube channel, @MirkoCasts, has roughly 164,000 subscribers

His move to VALORANT isn’t random. The Pacific LCQ is a B-tier tournament organized by Riot Games and ONE Up, where teams from South Asia and Oceania compete for spots in the VCT Pacific Stage 2 Play-In

Joining Mirko on the talent desk are Laphel as studio host, alongside casters Brigida, GideonQ, and Naisou, plus reporter Aeterna. The multinational composition of the lineup spans three countries

Where crypto should be, but isn’t

Look at the Pacific LCQ event details, the talent roster, the competitive structure, and you’ll find something notable by its absence: any mention of crypto, blockchain, NFTs, or Web3 integration

Riot Games, which controls both VALORANT and League of Legends esports, has made no moves toward tokenized fan engagement, NFT-based collectibles, or on-chain tournament infrastructure for its competitive ecosystem

The games that actually sustain professional circuits, VALORANT, MLBB, League of Legends, Counter-Strike, remain firmly Web2. The talent pipeline flows between MLBB and VALORANT, not between Axie Infinity and anything
