Dr. Stone is getting another anime titled Dr. Stone Terraforming, which is now in production. The sequel will continue the story beyond the conclusion of the television series and adapt the Terraforming episode included in the manga’s 27th volume.
The announcement follows the television anime’s finale on June 25, 2026. The new project adapts material set after the manga’s main story concluded, bringing Senku Ishigami and his companions back for another scientific adventure. No release date or further production details have been announced in the information provided so far.
Manga author Riichiro Inagaki responded to the news by joking about the series continuing after its finale. “And yet, there’s more to the story…!!” he said in his message. Inagaki added that Senku and the others’ scientific adventures were not actually over, asking viewers to “keep watching Senku and the others’ scientific adventures a little longer.” He ended his message with, “This is insanely exciting!”
Dr. Stone follows Senku, a science prodigy who awakens thousands of years after a mysterious phenomenon turns humanity to stone. With civilisation having collapsed, he sets out to rebuild society through scientific discoveries, gradually bringing other people back and developing technology from scratch.
The anime adaptation is produced by TMS Entertainment. Its television run began in 2019, followed by Stone Wars, New World, and the final season, Science Future. Dr. Stone Terraforming will continue the anime after the conclusion of that main storyline.
