Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Infinity Castle Part 2 may have a release date, as an untitled Sony Pictures film is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on September 17, 2027. The listing does not name the film, but the date has been linked to the second instalment of the Infinity Castle trilogy.
As spotted by @WSJ_manga on Twitter/X, movie industry data website The Numbers lists the unnamed film for September 17, 2027 as a possible date rather than a formally announced Demon Slayer release. The first Infinity Castle movie was released as the opening part of a planned three-film adaptation, leaving two more movies to complete the story.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is based on the manga written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge, which ran in Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2016 to May 2020 and was collected into 23 volumes. The story follows Tanjiro Kamado, who joins the Demon Slayer Corps after demons kill his family and turn his younger sister, Nezuko, into one.
The television anime is produced by Ufotable and has aired four seasons containing 63 episodes. The Infinity Castle story is being adapted as a theatrical trilogy, with the first film released in July 2025.
