Corsair Gaming has acquired the assets of Trak Racer, expanding its position in the rapidly growing sim racing market while extending its gaming hardware portfolio into flight simulation. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition builds on Corsair’s strategy of expanding its Gamer and Creator Peripherals segment into adjacent enthusiast categories and strengthens the company’s existing Fanatec sim racing platform with a broader range of cockpit, chassis and simulation hardware. By combining Fanatec’s electronic racing controls with Trak Racer’s physical simulator systems, Corsair is creating a more comprehensive end-to-end simulation ecosystem for consumers, professional racers and commercial customers.

Founded in 2008, Melbourne-based Trak Racer designs and manufactures premium racing and flight simulation cockpits, seats, monitor stands, motion systems and related accessories. Its product portfolio spans entry-level through professional-grade systems and complements Fanatec’s lineup of wheelbases, steering wheels, pedals, shifters and simulation software.

Corsair said the combination creates opportunities to offer integrated hardware bundles while simplifying the purchasing process for simulation enthusiasts. The company expects the expanded portfolio to increase sales of complementary products, including cockpits, racing controls, displays, gaming PCs and accessories, while maintaining the distinct product offerings of both brands.

The transaction also enhances Corsair‘s direct-to-consumer business. Trak Racer generates the majority of its sales through direct channels, giving Corsair an opportunity to leverage its global retail, distribution and e-commerce infrastructure to expand the brand’s reach into new international markets and customer segments.

Beyond sim racing, the acquisition provides Corsair with an established position in the flight simulation market through Trak Racer’s TR550 Flight Simulator platform. The company said the adjacent category represents a natural extension of its existing expertise, as both racing and flight simulation rely on similar technologies, including precision controls, structural engineering, virtual reality integration, motion systems and haptic feedback.

The acquisition also brings a portfolio of licensing agreements and motorsport partnerships expected to support future product development. Trak Racer maintains licensing relationships with Mattel for Hot Wheels and Matchbox-branded simulation products scheduled to launch beginning in 2027, as well as an expanded agreement with Porsche covering a broader range of co-branded simulation hardware. In motorsports, the company has official partnerships with the BWT Alpine Formula One Team and the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team.

Corsair said the transaction strengthens its long-term growth strategy by expanding into a higher-growth segment of the gaming peripherals market while creating additional opportunities for product bundling and international expansion. The company also highlighted Trak Racer’s recently introduced TRZ motorcycle simulator, which it believes represents the first mass-produced, mainstream-priced full-size motion motorcycle simulator and establishes a new simulation product category.

Chief Executive Officer Thi La said the acquisition significantly expands Fanatec’s ecosystem while supporting Corsair’s strategy of addressing a larger global market with opportunities for revenue growth and margin expansion. He noted that Trak Racer’s direct-to-consumer business and complementary product portfolio are well positioned to scale through Corsair’s global distribution network.

As part of the transaction, Trak Racer founder Matt Sten has joined Corsair as chief technology officer for SIM Solutions. Sten said combining Trak Racer with Corsair and Fanatec will enable the company to reach a broader global audience while continuing to serve the simulation community that helped establish the brand.

The acquisition reinforces Corsair’s strategy of building a diversified gaming hardware ecosystem spanning PC components, peripherals, streaming equipment and simulation products. By integrating Trak Racer’s cockpit systems, motorsport partnerships and flight simulation capabilities with Fanatec’s premium racing technology, Corsair is positioning itself to capture a larger share of the expanding simulation gaming market.
