Central Michigan volleyball now has 21 losses after its two-match series with Kent State (9-10, 3-5).
CMU falls to 0-21 on the season and 0-8 in Mid-American Conference play.
The Chippewas only set win was in the second set, when they bested Kent State 25-21.
Despite the Golden Flashes leading for much of the set, the Chippewas tied it up at 19 after a Taylor Cripe kill.
CMU extended its lead to 23-20, then sophomore libero Rainey Weidman’s service ace powered the Chippewas to a 25-21 victory in the set.
Central Michigan ran its offense well in its victory, recording a .333 hitting percentage.
CMU was just shy of a win in the third set and forced Kent State to four set points, but ultimately fell 26-24.
Senior outside hitter Jaliyah Cohnes and freshman outside hitter Alexis Carper contributed significantly in the outside hitter slot during the absence of Cripe in the third set. Cohnes charted four kills, and Carper had three.
Cohnes ended the night with seven kills, while Carper finished with four.
The Chippewas cut their errors nearly in half compared to the night prior. They had only 23 errors on Thursday and had 40 on Wednesday.
Service errors were an issue for the Chippewas in Thursday’s match, though, as they had 10 errors behind the line.
Cripe led CMU offensively with 14 kills, her 14th double-digit performance of the season.
Sophomore middle blocker Lilly Mullholand charted 10 kills, and sophomore right side Karla Sanchez-George had eight.
Mulholland, Sanchez-George and Cohnes all ended the night with hitting percentages over .400.

Cripe and Weidman picked up 15 digs apiece.
Central Michigan’s head coach Arielle Wilson declined to comment.
The Chippewas are back in action Friday, Oct. 23, for a two-game series with Bowling Green on the road. The game is set to start at 6 p.m.
