Chad Michael Murray is letting fans in on his Buffalo Bills fandom.
The One Tree Hill actor recently shared how his love for football started at a young age.
“I grew up as a football addict,” Murray told People in an interview published Oct. 19. “It was all Saturday watching college ball, all Sunday watching NFL, the Monday night game, the Thursday night game, all of it.”

His love for the Bills, however, began with his mother sharing that she was a Bills fan and looked forward to watching the team on Sunday Night Football after church.
“It was my mother. She was a big Bills fan, and I remember church would always let out just a little bit early,” Murray said. “Father John was like, ‘All right, guys, I’m going to let you out early. Okay, it’s time to go. Go and go Bills.’ And we’d get out, and we’d rush home to go see the Bills game.”
While the Bills have been in his home throughout his life, he recalled a specific moment that drew him into having an “addiction.”
“I remember it was a Bills-Dolphins game, and I remember [quarterback] Jim Kelly. He dove into the end zone to score the final touchdown to win the game. I think that’s when the addiction was born right there.”
Murray admitted that he doesn’t watch football as much anymore but enjoys when he has the time to catch a game in person. The actor shared that while his wife, actress Sarah Roemer, was at first a Los Angeles Chargers fan she’s become a Bills fan.
The actor will now be a part of a new five-part docuseries on Tubi called “Just One Before I Die” on Bills Mafia which will have interviews with Jim Kelly, Dion Dawkins, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andre Reed, and more.
“I think there’s a lot of human stories that really get down to the grassroots of how much this means to so many people,” Murray says. “And then there’s other people that are just there for a good time, and just really love the tradition that they’ve created. It’s a beautiful insanity and I love it.”

The Bills are off to a good start this season with a record of 5-1. Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, who earned his first career overtime win against the Los Angeles Rams, told ESPN after the game, “It’s the first OT that I’ve got, so this feels good, being on this side.”
The next matchup for the Bills will be against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 pm ET.
