Casting News: This Summer Will Be Different Adds 4, A Chicago Med Exit, And More

Malin Akerman is trading “The Hunting Wives” for a different kind of Netflix romance.

Akerman has joined the forthcoming adaptation of Carley Fortune’s “This Summer Will Be Different” as Aunt Stacy, TVLine has learned. Also boarding the series are Megan Follows (“Anne of Green Gables”) as Cheryl, Nadine Bhabha (“Heated Rivalry”) as Farah, and Matias Lucas (“The Order”) as Carter.

Based on Fortune’s novel of the same name, the 10-episode drama is described as “a simmering, sun-soaked romance set across multiple summers on Prince Edward Island about Lucy (played by Sophie Nélisse, “Yellowjackets”), a young woman navigating her 20s and her first real love with her best friend’s brother, the one person she was never supposed to fall for.”
