Capcom details performance for Monster Hunter Wilds on Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom gave us our first look at Monster Hunter Wilds on Nintendo Switch 2 during last week’s direct, and they have just provided details how it will run on Nintendo Switch 2. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to release on the platform December 4, 2026.
It seems that Nintendo Switch 2 is locked onto just one setting in handheld, running at 864p at 30fps. Docked mode does technically have two settings, one prioritizing frame rate and the other resolution, but they are both set at 30fps as well. Prioritizing resolution will give you a 1260p image at 30fps, while prioritizing frame rate gives you 1080p at 30fps.

Capcom has also mentioned that they use dynamic resolution in tandem with upscaling, as well as to expect some frame drops in all versions. Here’s the full quote:
*1 Render resolution changes depending on system load. If rendering resolution falls below output resolution, upscaling will be applied.
*2 Frame rate may drop in some high-load situations.
