Teams from California and Kentucky will play in Game 3 on the first day of the 2026 Little League Softball World Series on Sunday.
The penultimate game of Opening Day of the 2026 Little League Softball World Series will feature Team California and Team Kentucky on Sunday afternoon. This matchup between Team West and Team Central region will take place at 4:00 p.m. ET from Greenville, NC at Stallings Stadium. These teams will play in the Orange Bracket, which also includes the Asia-Pacific, Latin America, Mid-Atlantic and New England regions. This tournament includes eight teams from the United States and four International teams.

Team California is the only team entering this day undefeated, but Team Kentucky will undoubtedly give it a run for its money. The West Region is represented by Live Oak LL from Live Oak, CA, which is about an hour north of Sacramento. The Central Region is represented by Daviess County LL from Owensboro, Kentucky, which is about two hours west of Louisville. This LLSWS tournament runs through August 9.
Live Oak LL won the West Region going undefeated with a 4-0 record in San Bernardino, CA. Live Oak LL was technically Team Northern Calif. and survived with some one-run wins. That included the championship game when it beat Team Nevada, 2-1, that had only lost one previous game. Team Kentucky won its Central Region tournament from Whitestown, IN with a 4-1 finish. Its only loss of the tournament was in the semifinal game against Indiana, 3-2. Kentucky got redemption in a second semifinal game with a 6-1 victory over Missouri. That set them up in a rematch against Indiana and they won in a one-run game to complete their comeback, 1-0.
