Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10 hosted by Vijay Sethupathi had several twists in its grand opening with contestants fighting it out for their place in the house through audience voting.
Actor Lakshmi Priya was the first contestant to be introduced, followed by actor Shathiga and TV actor Shabnam. But the season began with a strange twist, the audience was given the chance to decide which contestants would enter the main house.
Later, after the voting Lakshmi Priya and Shathiga got their places while Shabnam was eliminated. Then, Prithivinath and Javeed Sheriff were brought into the competition with YouTuber and film reviewer Prashanth Rangaswamy. Prashanth was voted out by the audience and Prithivinath and Javeed advanced.
The season also had contestants from the pre-show The Common Man, which was held to select commoners for Bigg Boss Tamil 10. Five of the Top 8 contestants were retained initially, before three Common Man finalists – Shama, Muniyammal and Jason Kaushi – were selected to join the main show.
The selection of contestants continued with actor Muthazhagi, yoga instructor Kavitha Mohan and makeup artist Asmitha Neelamegam fighting for their places. Muthazhagi and Asmitha made the cut and Kavitha was shown the door.
More stars coming into the house
On the launch night, actor siblings Akshitha Ashok and Avinash Ashok competed against each other for a place in the house. Akshitha was eliminated and Avinash was voted winner of the audience vote and entered the show.
Later, actor “Black” Pandi and actor-writer Vinothbabu M were introduced as contestants. Actor Chandini Tamilarasan and Savinya Velu also did the same, taking the number of contestants to more.
Actor Kumaran Thangarajan and actor-dancer Raaghav Ranganathan also entered the house while television actor Puvi Arasu was voted out by the audience.
Social media creator Dhanya Pallath, known through the culinary workplace comedy sitcom Resort, was among the latest contestants to enter the show.
Bigg Boss Tamil 10 has come up with a very different format for its grand launch with contestants picked through a mix of celebrity entries, commoner participation and audience voting.
