Bigg Boss Tamil Season 10 has been making news not just for its tasks, nominations and eliminations but also for reports on how much contestants earn during their stay in the house. As per the latest reports, the contestants are in different remuneration brackets, and their daily salary is reportedly between Rs 10,000 and Rs 40,000.
The current season is hosted by Vijay Sethupathi and includes a mix of commoners and well-known television personalities. The pay discrepancies reported appear to be based on the contestants’ professional backgrounds and popularity. But the numbers have not been officially confirmed by the makers of the show or the contestants.
Established Actors earn up to Rs 40,000 a day: Report
Reportedly, actress Lakshmi Priya and actors Vinoth and Raghav are the highest-paid actors. They reportedly make between Rs 35,000 and Rs 40,000 a day.
Actress Shabnam was also said to be in this category. However, she was eliminated on day one, and reports have questioned whether she received any payment after her early exit. Contestants’ signed contracts have not been made public.
Commoners get Rs 10,000-Rs 20,000
Reportedly, contestants who come on the show without an established acting career are in a lower salary bracket.
Reports suggest that the commoners earn about Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 per day. The gap is said to be the pay disparity between the new faces and the contestants who are already established in the showbiz industry.
What did the eliminated contestants get paid?
Included in the reported salary discussion is a number of contestants that have already been eliminated from the competition.
The actress and actor Black Pandi were reportedly earning between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000 per day. The more days they were in the house, the more money they would make overall.
In contrast, actor Kumaran was reportedly paid Rs 30,000 per day before he exited the competition after taking Rs 5 lakh in the cash-box task. His pay would be the cash-box amount, plus whatever he was paid for his time on the show.
Shabnam’s reported early exit has also drawn attention as she was said to be in the highest salary bracket. It is contingent upon the contract terms, which have not been officially disclosed, as to whether contestants are paid after an early eviction.
