Bangladesh is SPRIBE’s #1 market. That tells you everything about where digital entertainment is heading

When a company reports its top market by monthly active users, the expectation is usually one of the obvious candidates: the United States, India, Brazil, a large European economy. WhenSPRIBE identified Bangladesh as its number-one market by MAU volume in its most recent internal reporting, the result read less like a milestone and more like a signal.

Bangladesh is a country of approximately 175 million people with a median age of around 28 years,.As of 2025, roughly 77.7 million people in Bangladesh used the internet, representing a penetration rate of 44.5% of the total population, with mobile connections accounting for the vast majority of that access. The country reached 4G coverage across its full network footprint in 2025. Social media user identities grew by 13.3% in a single year.

In other words: a large, young, increasingly connected population, accessing digital content almost entirely through mobile devices. That profile is not unique to Bangladesh. It describes a category of market that digital entertainment platforms have historically underestimated, and that SPRIBE’s data suggests they can no longer afford to.

What mobile-first actually means at the platform level

The phrase “mobile-first” is used widely in product development, but its implications differ significantly depending on where a company sits in the technology stack. For a software developer whose products are integrated by operator partners around the world, building for mobile-first markets requires decisions that get made well before any user sees an interface.

SPRIBE’s Aviator is an HTML5-based product, lightweight by design, optimized for the processing constraints of mid-range smartphones, and playable without requiring a dedicated app download. Each round completes in seconds. The social layer, including live chat, shared leaderboards, and visible real-time activity from other players, functions within those same technical constraints rather than requiring additional bandwidth. These are not incidental features. They are product decisions that determine whether a platform works in a market where median mobile download speeds sit at approximately 28 Mbps and where most users are connecting via mobile data rather than fixed broadband.

The result is a product that is functional and engaging under the connectivity conditions that define how most of the world actually accesses digital content, not just how the highest-penetration markets do.

    Asia doubled. Bangladesh led.

SPRIBE reported that its Asia region as a whole doubled in 2025, and that Bangladesh ranked as its number-one market by monthly active users as of the most recent quarterly reporting period, according to the company’s RFI. India ranked second. Brazil third. The ordering is notable on its own terms: two of the three top markets by player volume are South Asian countries, and none of the three is a Western European or North American market.

This does not mean those markets are irrelevant to SPRIBE.The company’s 2024 data showed Europe accounting for 32.23% of new player inflow and Africa for 19.81%, with the APAC region posting a 555% year-over-year increase in new players in December 2024 versus December 2023. The European and African footprints are established and growing. But the direction of the growth curve is pointing clearly toward markets that share a particular set of characteristics: young populations, rapidly expanding mobile connectivity, and a digital entertainment landscape that is still being defined rather than already saturated.

SPRIBE founder and CEODavid Natroshvili has articulated the strategic reasoning behind prioritizing these markets. “I have always thought that each region requires a tailored approach,” he has said. “The impressive growth in APAC was a direct result of our strategic focus there. Africa showed promising metrics too. We analyzed regional preferences and adjusted our product offerings accordingly.”

That regional attentiveness is not simply a market segmentation exercise. It reflects a view that the next phase of digital entertainment growth will be determined by how well platforms serve the conditions of new-connectivity markets rather than how efficiently they extract more from already-mature ones.

What Aviator offers, at its core, is a format that is social, fast, and low-friction. Each session is measured in seconds. The outcome is visible to all players simultaneously. In-game chat and leaderboard features encourage community participation without requiring sustained attention spans or high data consumption. The product was not designed with Bangladesh specifically in mind, but the design decisions that make it perform well in bandwidth-constrained, mobile-dominant markets apply directly.

Bangladesh’s online gaming market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 9.5% through 2031, according to industry research, driven by smartphone adoption, affordable data plans, and a youth demographic that has grown up with mobile devices as a primary entertainment medium. The average age of the population sits at approximately 27 to 28 years.Multiplayer formats are particularly resonant, with research noting that social connectivity is a significant driver of gaming engagement in the market. These conditions describe an audience for whom Aviator‘s design is genuinely well suited, not as a niche product but as a format aligned with how that audience already engages with digital content.

What the ranking tells the industry

Bangladesh as a number-one market is worth examining precisely because it is not a country that appears on most digital entertainment companies’ priority lists. The markets that attract the most investment attention in digital entertainment tend to be those with established spending power and proven conversion rates. Bangladesh has a rapidly expanding digital user base but remains a lower-income market by GDP per capita measures. The conventional logic says you go where the money is most concentrated.

SPRIBE’s position suggests a different approach: go where the engagement is forming, before the market develops the competitive density that makes late entry expensive. India, now SPRIBE’s second-ranked market by MAU, was itself a similar kind of bet a few years ago, one that paid off in the company reporting it as its top growth market for 2024 before Bangladesh moved to the front.

The pattern is consistent with a broader observation about where digital platform growth has been coming from across multiple sectors. Streaming services, social platforms, and e-commerce companies have each reported that their most significant user growth over the past several years has come from markets fitting the Bangladesh profile: large populations, younger demographics, expanding mobile infrastructure, and historically low prior engagement with the category. The entertainment platforms that built for those conditions early have generally outperformed those that waited for market conditions to resemble their home markets before entering.

For SPRIBE, the Bangladesh data point is both a validation of product decisions made years in advance and a reference for where the company is directing continued investment. SPRIBE has identified LatAm, India, Southeast Asia, and several regulated markets in Europe and Africa as its priority growth regions for 2026, according to the company, describing them as places where “our format performs exceptionally well and where the demand for light, dynamic entertainment continues to grow.”

Bangladesh is, on current data, the clearest evidence that those conditions exist. And that the companies positioned to serve them are the ones building from the ground up for how new audiences actually connect, not how established ones have always connected.
