ASUS’ new TUF Gaming RX 9070 XT gets an eye-catching Onimusha design

ASUS has introduced a themed version of its TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT, created in collaboration with AMD and Capcom to celebrate Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The special-edition graphics card combines the familiar RDNA 4 hardware with a samurai-inspired design, although ASUS has yet to announce pricing or a general release date.

The card was first shown at Gamescom in August before making another appearance at Tokyo Game Show in September. Its blue-and-gold color scheme draws inspiration from the Oni Gauntlet featured in the upcoming action game, with custom artwork across the cooler shroud and metal backplate. Despite the visual overhaul, its dimensions remain identical to the standard retail model.

Underneath the themed exterior, the card uses the same Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU found in ASUS’s regular lineup. Built on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture, it features 4,096 stream processors and 16GB of GDDR6 memory connected through a 256-bit interface. The default boost clock reaches 3,060MHz, increasing to 3,080MHz in OC Mode. Other supported technologies include PCIe 5.0, ray tracing, and AMD’s FSR suite.

Cooling is handled by a substantial 3.125-slot heatsink measuring 330mm in length, paired with three Axial-tech fans and a vented die-cast metal exoskeleton. A phase-change thermal pad helps transfer heat away from the GPU, while dual-ball bearings are designed to extend fan lifespan to as much as twice that of conventional designs.

ASUS has also retained its usual TUF durability features, including military-grade power components, a protective PCB coating against dust and moisture, and the Auto-Extreme automated manufacturing process. GPU Guard reinforces the four corners of the graphics processor with adhesive, while an included GPU bracket helps distribute mounting pressure and reduce the risk of card sag.

Power comes from three 8-pin connectors, with ASUS recommending an 850W power supply for the system. Buyers will also receive the standard Steam edition of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, alongside a themed accessory pack containing a card holder, fridge magnet, Velcro strap, and sticker.

The special edition offers a distinctive alternative for fans looking to pair their gaming PC with hardware inspired by Capcom’s upcoming samurai adventure. However, prospective buyers will have to wait for ASUS to confirm its price and availability. As always, for the latest news on AMD Radeon graphics cards, ASUS TUF Gaming hardware, limited-edition GPUs, and developments across the gaming industry, be sure to follow our dedicated hardware coverage.
