Zach “Amongold” Hoyt has spoken out about his recent Twitch ban, saying he’s ‘relieved’ to be spending some time away from the screen after a health scare sent him to the emergency room.
Known as one of Twitch’s most-watched streamers, Hoyt has vowed never to fully leave the platform behind for rival Kick, previously boasting about his impressive earnings. Still, he’s been outspoken about Twitch’s regulations and jumped to the defense of other streamers who’ve been banned for making controversial comments.
Not one to mince his words, Asmongold’s channel has been banned for the second time in 2026, although he claims he hasn’t been told why.
Taking to YouTube, Hoyt explained that while he’d normally have made two or three videos by now about why he’s suspended from Twitch, he’s been a little preoccupied with a health scare.
Saying that while he’ll probably try to appeal Twitch to get his suspension down to a week, do some streaming on Kick, or maybe take a vacation, Asmongold admitted that painful symptoms have taken precedence over the streaming situation.

Hoyt’s father was hospitalized with pneumonia in September 2025, with further tests diagnosing acute liver failure and pancreatic cancer. He passed away later that month.
In his latest video, Asmongold said: “I got suspended, I actually didn’t even go live. Now, why is that? Um, well, it’s because the day before that I had a health symptom that was identical to my dad’s health symptom before he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.”
Hoyst won’t go further into what symptoms he was experiencing because they were ‘gross’, but freaking out, he was lying in pain and wasn’t even aware that he’d banned. He doesn’t seem too fussed now, adding: “So, I said, ‘Thank God.” Right? Thank God. Now, I’m going to have I’m going to have two weeks to deal with this problem, right?’
“And honestly, that’s the way that I felt. I wasn’t really even stressed out or upset about it. I’m still really not. I mean, it is what it is, right?”
He then went on to brand Twitch with a series of expletives we can’t repeat here due to his ban.
Being transparent with his followers, Hoyt says the symptoms have currently gone away, although he’s still worried. Reiterating he’s 36 and has never really had any severe health problems, the streamer confessed: “I was extremely scared. I was very upset, and I was really worried. And so I’ve been dealing with that for the past about 3 or 4 days. And uh now that it’s.”
Saying it’s amazing how something like streaming can take up so much of your life and then matter so little when you’re concerned about yourself, he referred to the whole situation as a paradox.
Although he’ll probably get a follow-up test, Hoyt maintains the health scare is why he’s been uncharacteristically quiet on his latest ban.
In terms of why Asmongold was banned from Twitch, it’s potentially due to comments made during an August 3 livestream reacting to a video of migrants entering the Spanish enclave of Ceuta from Morocco.

Calling out immigration, Hoyt ranted to his 2.4 million followers and said: “I’d shoot whoever, if it’s kids, women, men, anybody, they’re gonna stop coming over.”
Even though it’s unconfirmed whether this is the comment that pushed Twitch to bring down the ban hammer, Hoyt has doubled down on his stance and compared the situation in Ceuta to World War Z and Wolfgang Petersen’sTroy.
In the second half of his YouTube video discussing his health scare, Asmongold vented: “I think this is a profound inversion of morality. I don’t think that any country has an obligation to take in migrants.
“I don’t think any country has an obligation to let people invade their borders. And I think that at the capacity that was happening with Ceuta, I do think that you should use lethal military force to repel a literal invasion.”
While Asmongold’s Twitch remains dark as he attempts to appeal his latest Twitch ban, it’s unclear whether he’ll find an alternative platform to share his views or he’ll simply kick back and enjoy a two-week break.
