Vertigo Games has released a brand-new trailer for its flat-screen remake of Arizona Sunshine, this time around showcasing some of its gameplay and how it will translate over from a game that was originally designed around VR. The trailer, which you can check out below, confirms that it will be a third-person shooter and will also include co-op elements.

Arizona Sunshine will allow online and split-screen co-op for up to two players at a time. Along with this, the studio has confirmed that Buddy the dog will also be a playable character.

While the protagonist simply wants to live in peace in the midst of a zombie apocalypse, he is unfortunately drawn into a larger conspiracy that is seemingly being led by a psychopath who is experimenting on some of the zombies.

The remake of Arizona Sunshine was unveiled back in June. One of the biggest ways the title will differ from its original VR release will be the change in perspective; the original was a first-person shooter. The remake will also include all of the weapons and equipment that players had access to in the original.

Arizona Sunshine was originally released back in 2016, and owing to the positive critical response at the time, got an upgraded release in 2024 that could make use of more powerful hardware. This upgraded version also included improved visuals, physics, and plenty of new weapons and other equipment for players to use.

The remake is being developed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and doesn’t yet have a release date.
