The Anambra State Ministry of Culture, Entertainment and Tourism has partnered with JT Play Hub and CLIFF to unveil the ANUFEST Summit 2026, a cultural and creative platform aimed at mobilising Ndi Anambra to play an active role in shaping the future of the state.
The summit, themed “What Is Your Role in Building the Anambra We Want?”, is expected to bring together stakeholders, creatives, youths, communities and other residents to celebrate the state’s heritage while exploring the economic and social opportunities within the culture, entertainment and tourism sectors.
Speaking during the unveiling session in Awka, the Commissioner for Culture, Entertainment and Tourism, Mr Udoji Amedu, called on Ndi Anambra to embrace the festival and participate actively in its programmes.
He explained that activities would take place across different zones of the state, providing opportunities for communities to showcase their cultural heritage, creativity and tourism attractions.
The commissioner noted that ANUFEST would go beyond entertainment by creating a platform for promoting Anambra’s rich cultural identity and tourism potential.
Also speaking, the Anambra State Head of Service, Barr. Ngozi Anuli Iwouno, Esq., commended the State Government for its efforts in developing the Solution Fun City, describing it as an important recreational destination where residents and visitors can relax, enjoy leisure activities and experience tourism within the state.
She called for increased investment in cultural and tourism infrastructure, including the establishment of a museum, archive, zoo and art galleries to preserve Anambra’s heritage and expand the state’s tourism offerings.
Barr. Iwouno stressed the importance of documenting and projecting Anambra’s history, while advocating stronger efforts to preserve and promote the Igbo language.

The Convener and Festival Director of ANUFEST, Mr Ifeanyi Eziukwu, said the success of the festival would require strong financial backing and the support of relevant stakeholders.
He called for active participation from youths and communities across the state, noting that ANUFEST provides an opportunity to celebrate Anambra’s heritage, create platforms for emerging talents and businesses, and tell the Anambra story to a wider audience.
The summit is expected to further strengthen collaboration among government, the creative industry, communities and other stakeholders in advancing culture, entertainment and tourism as important drivers of development in Anambra State.
