Andy Cohen explains his decision to turn down Dancing With the Stars
Andy Cohen opened up about the DWTS offer and why he rejected it during his exclusive interview with Variety.
The interviewer asked Cohen whether he was approached for any other reality show. The TV show host revealed he received an offer from Dancing With the Stars. However, he decided to decline the offer “many, many, many years ago.”
Cohen said, “I can’t dance on TV. No one wants to see that. I used to be the greatest freeform dancer, and I feel like every time I go to Dead shows, people film me dancing, and then I get made fun of on TikTok. Let me dance in peace.”
While Cohen said no to the show, multiple Real Housewives stars from Bravo, including Phaedra Parks, Kenya Moore, Teresa Giudice, Lisa Vanderpumpand Erika Jayne, participated on DWTS. According to Page Six, Vanderpump Rules alum Ariana Madix made it to the finale three years ago.
During his interview, he also spoke about Real Housewives casting and where he would look for the new cast of his show. He also addressed whether he would ever participate in Traitors. Cohen revealed that he has not been asked to join, adding that he believes he would be eliminated quickly. He added that his experience with creating reality shows will make him a target among contestants.
Cohen also hosts reunion specials, so his existing role will create a conflict of interest if he were to compete on the series.
While Andy Cohen declined to participate in Dancing With the Stars, the show continues to attract personalities from Bravo shows. Summer House star Ciara Miller is set to participate in the latest season, which premieres in September.
