Amy Poehler & Parks and Rec Creator's New Peacock TV Show Gets Release Date, First Look
    • Amy Poehler and Parks and Recreation creator’s new show Dig, co-showrun by Mike Schur, will be released on Peacock TV on November 23, 2026.
    • The comedy series, based on Kate Myers’ novel Excavations, follows a team of archaeologists and college students on a dig site in Greece, with Poehler playing the lead role of Elise.
    • The show also stars Hugh Laurie as Neville, with other cast members including Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza, and is executive produced by Poehler and Schur.

Amy Poehler and Parks and Recreation‘s creator reunion show locks in its release date. The show was announced last year in May 2025, with Mike Schurserving as co-showrunner. The new show has also received its first-look images along with the release date.

The Peacock TV show Dig will be released on November 23, 2026. The comedy show’s first-look images show Poehler donned in her archaeologist outfit.

The other images shed light on the upcoming show’s bright setting at archaeological sites, with hints of conversations among various characters that viewers will soon see.

What else do we know about Amy Poehler’s Dig show?

Dig will have 10 episodes, which will drop simultaneously on Peacock TV. It’s an adaptation of Kate Myers’ bestselling novel Excavations.

According to the official synopsis, the story follows a team of dedicated archaeologists and less-dedicated college students who spend their summer working on a dig site in Greece. Their discovery of a rare artifact sends them on the adventure of a lifetime.

Poehler will play Elise, marking her second major live-action TV role after the success of Parks and Recreation. The actress and Schur co-wrote the pilot for the show and will also serve as executive producers.

Moreover, the comedy series also stars Hugh Laurie as Neville, a professor who loves archaeology. Other cast members include Geraldine Viswanathan, Antonia Thomas, and Fina Strazza. They will portray the characters Dylan, Clare, and Patty, respectively, as seen in the first-look images. Kayvan Novak, Jon Pointing, and Bonita Friedericy are set to appear as guest cast in the show.

Schur will serve as the showrunner with J.J. Philbin, who is also credited as the writer and executive producer of the upcoming comedy. Other executive producers include Morgan Sackett, Dean Holland, Kate Arend, Jordan Grief, Dave Beck, David Miner, and Sharon Jackson. Myers is set to serve as co-executive producer for the show.
