Amid Haiwaan’s Failure, Akshay Kumar’s Fan Leaves His ‘Fandom’; Read His Emotional Letter

Superstar Akshay Kumar has enjoyed a massive, loyal fan base throughout his decades-long career, but one of his admirers has now announced that he is stepping away from the actor’s fandom. On Sunday, a fan named Kapil shared an open letter addressed to Akshay, explaining that he had decided to distance himself from fan activities while making it clear that his admiration for the actor remains unchanged.

    Akshay Kumar’s Fan Leaves Fandom

Sharing what he described as an “application for leaving fandom”, Kapil began the letter by writing, “Application for Leaving Fandom. Respected Akshay Kumar Sir, With a heavy heart but a clear mind, I am writing to inform you that I am stepping away from the fandom (sic).”

Kapil clarified that the decision was not prompted by any change in his love, respect or admiration for Akshay Kumar. Instead, he said it was time to redirect his attention to his own life, priorities and mental well-being. He also made it clear that he does not want to become involved in controversies or negative conversations surrounding the actor.

“Going forward, I want to clearly say that in any negative situation, controversy or unwanted discussion related to you, I will not be part of it, and I have nothing to do with it,” he wrote.

Despite announcing his departure from the fandom, Kapil stressed that he is not turning his back on Akshay as a fan. He expressed his desire to see the actor continue to deliver his best work and said Akshay deserves love, respect and happiness.

“Even though I am leaving the fandom, I am not leaving as a fan. I will always support you, stand by you and cheer for you in every step of your journey till my last breath. Thank you for everything, Sir. Always your well-wisher,” the letter concluded.

The open letter comes at a time when Akshay Kumar’s recent theatrical track record has faced considerable scrutiny. While the actor continues to remain one of Bollywood’s most recognisable stars, several of his films released after the pandemic failed to make a significant impact at the box office. Projects such as Samrat Prithviraj, Ram Setu, Selfiee, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Sarfira struggled commercially despite Akshay’s established star power.

    Haiwaan’s Box Office

Akshay Kumar’s latest release, Haiwaan, has struggled to make an impact at the box office since its opening. The film has managed to earn just ₹5.50 crore net in India after two days, while its worldwide gross stands at ₹8.60 crore. Adding to its woes, Haiwaan has also received a largely negative response from critics.
