    • Netflix will be adding all six seasons of the TNT police procedural Major Crimes to its US library in September, marking the first time the series will be available for streaming on the platform.
    • Major Crimes will debut on Netflix on September 3, 2026, with 105 episodes ready for viewers, following the success of The Closer, the show from which Major Crimes was spun off.
    • The series stars Mary McDonnell as Captain Sharon Raydor and features a mix of original and new cast members, offering fans of The Closer a direct continuation of the story as they delve into the LAPD’s Major Crimes Division.

Netflix is adding a beloved cable crime drama to its US library this September. All six seasons of TNT’s police procedural will stream for the first time on the platform, giving American subscribers full access to a show that built a loyal following during its original run. The addition continues a wave of Warner Bros. Television licensing deals that have brought several classic cable series to Netflix over the past year.

Major Crimes arrives on Netflix in September

Major Crimes will arrive on Netflix on September 3, 2026, with all six seasons and 105 episodes available at once This is the first time the series has streamed on the platform, and no other regions have been confirmed for the release

It follows Netflix’s addition of The Closer late last year, the show that Major Crimes directly spun off from. Since debuting on Netflix, The Closer has performed strongly, racking up 221.1 million viewing hours and 19.8 million views, while spending nine days in the platform’s daily US top 10.

Major Crimes premiered in 2012 immediately after The Closer’s finale, continuing the story of the LAPD’s Major Crimes Division. Two-time Oscar nominee Mary McDonnell stars as Captain Sharon Raydor, who steps in as division head following the exit of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson.

Where The Closer centered on Brenda’s talent for coaxing confessions, Major Crimes takes a different approach, following Raydor’s more procedural leadership style as the team focuses on securing convictions through plea deals amid the pressures of a politically sensitive and budget-strapped justice system.

Much of the original ensemble returns for the spin-off, including G.W. Bailey, Tony Denison, Michael Paul Chan, Raymond Cruz, and Phillip P. Keene, alongside newer additions like Kearran Giovanni and Graham Patrick Martin.

All in all, for viewers who have already finished The Closer, Major Crimes offers a direct continuation of the story, releasing on Netflix just in time for a fall binge-watching season.
