Fate/EXTRA Last Encore is leaving Netflix very soon
Anime fans with an active Netflix subscription who want to catch up on Fate/EXTRA Last Encore will have to do so soon, as the title is leaving the streaming service next month. Produced by Shaft as part of Type-Moon’s Fate franchise, the animated series spans two seasons and 13 episodes. It will leave Netflix on August 1, 2026.
The 2018 series follows Hakuno Kishinami, who mysteriously awakens in a strange virtual realm with no memory of his past. Aided by his Servant, Nero, a female incarnation of the Roman emperor Nero Claudius, Hakuno embarks on a perilous journey while battling a host of rivals in pursuit of the Holy Grail, an ancient wish-granting artifact.
Akiyuki Shinbo and Yukihiro Miyamoto directed Fate/EXTRA Last Encore, while Kinoko Nasu and Hikaru Sakurai served as writers. The anime ran from January 28 to July 29, 2018, with 13 episodes spread across two seasons. While Last Encore draws inspiration from the 2010 role-playing video game Fate/Extra, it serves as an alternate-history version of the franchise rather than a direct adaptation.
In addition to its captivating story, Fate/EXTRA Last Encore features an English voice cast that includes Cherami Leigh, Vic Mignogna, Cassandra Lee Morris, Xanthe Huynh, Kyle McCarley, Mela Lee, Chris Hackney, Christine Marie Cabanos, John Snyder, Laura Megan Stahl, and Jessica Gee-George, among others.
