The Pokémon Company International and Aardman have revealed a brand-new teaser trailer for Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, giving fans their best look yet at the highly anticipated new stop-motion animation project set in Pokémon’s Galar region.

The trailer made its world premiere during a special Behind the Scenes with Aardman — ‘Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichupanel at Pokémon XP, a major fan event held alongside the 2026 Pokémon World Championships. The celebration saw 50,000 fans take over San Francisco for a weekend of competitive play, fan experiences, parades, live performances and more.

During the session, Phil Rynda, Pokémon’s director of original animation, was joined by Aardman creatives Tom Parkinson (director), Nat McKay (creative director, IP development) and James Young (model making creative lead) to share new details on the making of the series. Fans in attendance were treated to brand-new production insights, behind-the-scenes imagery, puppet demonstrations and a closer look at how Aardman’s award-winning craft is bringing this new take on the Pokémon world to life.

It was also announced that Disney+ will be the exclusive worldwide streaming home for Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu. The platform recently welcomedPokémon the Series: The Beginning for the first time, bringing Ash and Pikachu’s classic original adventures to audiences old and new.

These stories, full of adventure and heroism, all told from the perspective of Pokémon is made even more exciting through the lens of the incredible filmmakers at Aardman. Audiences will be delighted getting to know the Sirfetch’d & Pichu, and wonderful cast of Pokémon, featured in this series. Aardman has brought Galar to life in a way that makes you feel like you can smell the air, touch the tree bark, and want to adventure alongside our series heroes.

–Phil Rynda (Director of Original Animation, The Pokémon Company International)

From the moment we had selected our titular heroes, we knew it had the makings of a really funny, heartfelt odd-couple story. Sirfetch’d has this wonderfully noble, slightly bumbling energy – determined to be the best knight in the whole of Galar. While Pichu is the playful, curious squire, and often, actual voice of reason. They really are best friends, and we think audiences are going to fall in love watching them stumble, succeed and help Pokémon in need along the way.

    -Tom Parkinson (Director, Aardman)

Pokémon has that rare ability to mean something to longtime fans while continuing to feel completely relevant to young audiences today. Our new series Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu brings Aardman’s signature stop-motion artistry with a bold, playful new perspective to this beloved world, giving audiences a fresh way to experience the characters they know and love. Along with Pokémon the Series: The Beginning, these series are powerful additions to Disney+.
