Baki spin-off mangaBaki Gaiden: Kaioh Retsu Doesn’t Mind Getting Isekai’d (Baki Gaiden: Retsu Kaioh wa Isekai Tensei shitemo Ikko ni Kamawan) is getting an anime adaptation.
The premise sees the character Kaioh Retsu awakening after battling Musashi Miyamoto in Baki-Dou to find himself in a “sword and sorcery” world.
The Baki Gaiden: Kaioh Retsu Doesn’t Mind Getting Isekai’d manga is written byDaisuke Ihara and drawn by Eiji Mutsui, with Baki creator Keisuke Itagaki credited for drafts. It began serialization in Akita Shoten’s Monthly Shonen Champion in December 2020 and will get its 17th volume on September 8, 2026.
The multi-part Baki martial arts series began in 1991 with Baki the Grappler. Its sixth part, Baki Rahen, started serialization in 2023. The manga inspired a 1994 OVA and a 2001 TV series before a new anime adapting its second part debuted in 2018. Afterwards came a 2020 second season, 2021’s Baki Hanma, 2023’s Baki Hanma Season 2, and 2026’s Baki-Dou: The Invincible Samurai. There was also a Baki Hanma VS Kengan Ashura crossover anime.
