Mega Man: Dual Override dev wants to make a new Mega Man X game

Mega Man series producer Shingo Izumi has expressed interest in making a new Mega Man X game.
Right now, Capcom’s current focus is Mega Man: Dual Override. That said, Izumi also recently spoke about wanting to revisit Mega Man X.
That news comes from an interview with Game Informer. Put simply, Izumi said that it’s “something we would definitely love to visit” and called it “an important series within the Mega Man brand”.
Izumi was asked if a new Mega Man X game is something he would be open to considering. In response, he said the following:
“From my perspective, yes, that is something we would definitely love to visit. Mega Man X is an important series within the Mega Man brand. We definitely value that series, and if there is a chance, we would always love to consider that.”
Mega Man X hasn’t had a new game since 2004 (we won’t count Mega Man X Dive here). Capcom did release Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2 back in 2018, and it’s out on Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2
