The Kagurabachi anime, set to air in April 2027, has announced two additional cast members. Miku Ito will voice Hinao, who works at Cafe Haru Haru, while Miyari Nemoto will play Char Kyonagi, who is being pursued for a certain reason. Character visuals and trailers for both characters have also been revealed.
About Kagurabachi
Kagurabachi is a Japanese sword battle action series centered on Chihiro Rokuhira, a boy who aspires to become a swordsmith and fights to avenge the murder of his father.
Chihiro spends his days training under his father, Kunishige Rokuhira, a renowned swordsmith. Their life is filled with laughter until everything changes when the mysterious sorcerer organization known as the Hishaku attacks.
What is taken from them are six Enchanted Blades possessing enough power to influence the fate of the nation, along with their gentle and peaceful everyday life. From the day everything changed, Chihiro is left in a world engulfed in darkness. Taking up Enten, the seventh Enchanted Blade left behind by his father, he sets out on a blood soaked path of revenge.
Creator Takeru Hokazono was born in Osaka Prefecture in 2000. Kagurabachi is his first serialized work. After beginning serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in September 2023, the manga quickly drew a major response from readers around the world.
On MANGA Plus by SHUEISHA, a multilingual manga app and web service offering simultaneous releases worldwide, the first chapter ranked No. 1 globally in views within one week of the series launch on the English edition in September 2023.
In August 2024, Kagurabachi also won first place in the Comics Division of the Next Manga Awards 2024. The manga has now surpassed 4 million copies in circulation.

Her Impression of Hinao and What She Focused on During Recording
I was told that the production wanted the conversations and way of speaking to feel natural and true to the atmosphere of the series, so I tried not to tense up and focused on giving the performance a natural feel.
With Hinao, I thought it could also be interesting for her to become slightly comical at times, so whenever there was room to really have fun with the role, I tried to give those moments a little extra flavor.
It is a wonderful recording environment where I can really feel the attention to detail and respect for the work, so I am looking forward to continuing the recording sessions.
How She Felt When She Got the Role and Her Enthusiasm for the Anime
Ever since I started reading the series, I became very interested in Hinao because she is a somewhat unique character within the story, and I found myself increasingly drawn to her.
During the audition, I wondered whether I would really be able to take on the role, but when I found out that I had been cast, I was simply so, so happy.
I want to portray Hinao so that her presence at Cafe Haru Haru can also feel like a place where people belong in the anime. I will give the role everything I have so that viewers will come to love the anime version of Hinao as well.
Her First Impression of Kagurabachi
I was amazed by the way the story keeps drawing you deeper and deeper in, as well as by its incredible sense of speed.
Revenge lies at the heart of the story, so every character carries something heavy with them. Even so, combined with the power of Hokazono’s artwork, there is something exhilarating about the way you can keep reading through it, which I found very appealing.
The story strongly moves the reader through emotions such as joy and sadness, and I found myself thinking, “I am going to get completely hooked on this.” I could not stop reading. It is so good.
Hinao’s Greatest Appeal
Hinao essentially works as an information broker connecting the underworld with sorcerers. Despite being so familiar with a world that might seem frightening at first glance, she is cute and always carries herself in a very natural way, which I think is wonderful.
Her twin buns and casual clothing also give her a bright and pop inspired appearance, but she is kind and has a comforting presence as well.
There is something about Hinao that somehow makes you feel safe and relaxed whenever she is around. That is another part of her charm. Personally, I also admire how naturally she can communicate with anyone without treating people differently.
Kagurabachi in One Phrase
“Cool Japanese culture.”
Sorry that I could not come up with anything more catchy. In addition to things such as swords, combat, strength of spirit, and the love between parent and child, I feel that the series is filled with elements of Japan in many different scenes.
When I read it, I genuinely thought, “Japan is so cool,” so that is why I chose this phrase.

Her Impression of Char and What She Focused on During Recording
Char tends to speak in short phrases, so I felt a lot of pressure because I knew I had to condense her emotions and express them very directly.
But once the recording actually started, I had a tremendous amount of fun playing her.
How She Felt When She Got the Role and Her Enthusiasm for the Anime
My manager told me directly at the agency that I had been cast as Char, and I accidentally let out an incredibly loud voice. One of the other staff members had to gently tell me to keep it down. Laughs.
Even so, until I actually received the script, I kept wondering, “Is it really… me…?” My emotions were constantly bouncing between anxiety and excitement.
Her First Impression of Kagurabachi
It is dark, but it also has the kind of optimism you expect from a Jump series. The comedy scenes are not presented in an obvious way either. Instead, little touches of humor are mixed into serious moments, and I felt that the series has a stylish quality that values the overall flow of the story.
But I do not really understand complicated things. It is just incredibly entertaining.
Char Kyonagi’s Greatest Appeal
Personally, I think she is the kind of character who helps you relax.
Char herself must be carrying something enormous, but she is basically always full of energy. When Char is not cheerful, it makes the people watching her feel sad too. I think she has that kind of charm.
During recording, one of my senior colleagues told me, “Roles like this really suit you.” Just as I was about to be happy about the compliment, they laughed and added, “Because she does not read the room.”
