A popular PS2/PS3game series is getting a new release on PlayStation 5. The game was previously expected to launch in fall 2026. However, the former date has been shifted to another release window.
Saber Interactive shifted Turok: Origins’ release window to spring 2027. The fast-paced, third-person dinosaur shooter game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch 2. The game will also be available on PC
This announcement was made during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026. No reason was given for the change in the release window. Along with the announcement, a new trailer was launched at Gamescom. The new story trailer for Turok: Origins can be watched below.
What can PlayStation 5 owners expect from Turok Origins?
Turok: Origins is a brand-new prequel to the original 1997 Nintendo 64 game. It lets gamers play as the legendary Turok warriors. They must face ferocious dinosaurs and terrifying alien threats that seek to destroy all human life in the galaxy. Players can unleash devastating attacks using a range of weapons and abilities.
Gamers can play the game solo or as a team as they unravel mysteries that could help save humanity. In the game, gamers will have to fight various creatures on the ground, in the sky, in swamps, and in caves. During these battles, gamers must use their special abilities, melee attacks, and fine-tuned weapons like plasma rifles, ray guns, snipers, bows, shotguns, and more.
Players can also harness DNA from fallen enemies and the environment to upgrade their arsenal. This DNA can power and upgrade Turok’s suit in real-time. It also provides upgrades to the character’s skills and abilities to boost combat.
Gamers can explore the epic story across various lost lands. During missions, players will travel across deadly worlds on various planets. These include ancient temples, wasteland canyons, and dense jungles. Each location holds a story packed with twists and turns.
