Crunchyroll is the largest streaming hub for anime fans across the globe, and it’s home to countless acclaimed series. One of the most stand-out hits on the platform is Wistoria: Wand and Sword, an action fantasy series centering around Will Serfort. Based on a manga written by Fujino Omori and illustrated by Aoi Toshi, the anime debuted in 2024 and became a major global hit. The second season was confirmed right after, and it also reached its conclusion this year. While the third season is currently under production, the anime hasn’t shared any major updates for fans. However, the anime returned with a range of new visuals to hype up the release of the second season’s Blu-ray. The official website confirms that it will be released in two volumes, and the first one will be out on August 26th, 2026.

However, the date is only for Japanese fans, and it will take at least a few months or even longer to release it internationally. Apart from including Episodes 13-18, the Blu-ray also comes with its set of bonuses, including new visuals, a booklet consisting of storyboards, design materials, the first part of an original story written by Omori, and many more surprises. The Blu-ray cover features Will Serfort in his unusual transformation, which he gained after borrowing Elfaria’s powers during the Terminalia in the first part of the second season.

The third season was officially confirmed in June this year, right after the second season’s finale was broadcast. Since it’s only been a few weeks, the anime hasn’t shared any updates on the upcoming season, not even a release window. Since the second season took around two years to be released after the first season’s finale, we can expect around the same waiting time for the next installment as well. Since the first two seasons are streaming on Crunchyroll, we can expect the next season to land there as well.
The anime even released a new visual during the announcement. Featuring Will Serfort, the visual teases a major twist in the upcoming season since one of his eyes is glowing strangely. Not only that, but he is also surrounded by a different kind of flower on each side. The right side is kind of familiar to the red spider lily, a flower famously associated with death.

The story finally took shape in the second season when the truth about Will’s origins came to light. Not only that, but the villains have been making a move to cause chaos before the fated day. While their plan during the Terminalia failed, the damage they caused was devastating. There’s a traitor in the Tower of the Magia Vander, where only the world’s most elite Mages are allowed entry. This means that not only is the traitor a high Mage, but their power could also be more impressive than we realize. The third season is expected to unravel the mystery behind the traitor and the true reason behind their actions.
