A rule of TV is to make sure that real businesses aren’t portrayed in a negative way. This means that a lot of workplaces become fictional entities within the story. The great thing for us is that it means we have dream places we’d love to work at—and some we’d want to avoid. Can you name the shows based on the workplace name? Let’s put your TV knowledge to the test.

How did you do? For those who got a perfect score, we give you a round of applause. You certainly deserve it, as we covered different genres and interests to make this a little trickier. Didn’t get them all right? That’s okay; you have plenty of shows to check out now!

Most Memorable Workplaces in TV Shows

There are some workplaces that will stand out more than others, and one reason for that is due to the name of the show. Just think about Abbott Elementary for the school name, for example. That gives it away that it’s the TV show Abbott Elementary you’re talking about.

The name Parks and Recreation Department is a clear indication that you’re about to watch an episode of Parks and Recreation, and you know that the restaurant name The Bear is linked to the TV show of the same name.

There are others that aren’t quite as obvious, but you can figure it out pretty quickly. The 99th Precinct is connected to Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The entire phrasing of “Nine-Nine” stands out because they are proud members of this precinct. The Office fans immediately remember Dunder Mifflin, although we do have to question whether you can remember the UK version’s workplace. Did you get that one right in the quiz?

Then there are the workplaces that change their name over and over again, creating a bit of a running joke. Grey’s Anatomysomewhat started it as Seattle Grace Hospital and then added Memorial to the title as it expanded and went through some rebranding. When it was combined with Mercy West, it took on the name of the two hospitals, Seattle Grace Mercy West. Fans will remember the name since the season 9 change, Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, named after Lexie Grey and Mark Sloan after the other plane crash survivors bought it out.

A show that definitely became a running joke was Suits, as it started out as Pearson Hardman after Jessica Pearson and Daniel Hardman staged a coup against Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke. It then switched to just Pearson, before becoming Pearson Darby, Pearson Darby Specter, and Pearson Specter. Each season, everyone wondered what the name would be next! What a way to make your fictional workplace name memorable.
